LOVE FOREVER: A POEM

Updated on May 30, 2012

A quiet countryside

Where we can walk side by side

Holding hands in blissful serenity

Smiling at each other for all eternity

I look through my window at morn

And see you riding on your steed, so gallant

You lift your hat and smile at me

Sweep me off my feet, by your charm’s talent

Unfaltering love binding us ever so deep

Untouched by the world’s rash novelties

In a garden of our own, admiring our blossoms

None but each other to please

At nights, we will whisper together

Regaling tales near a crackling fire

Our laughter and love the only sound

A knight and his lady love, our joy, to never tire

Oblivious to all the world

Living our sweet melody together

We’ll lose ourselves in yore’s romance

And in God’s untarnished love, anon, revel

As our days grow shorter and nights begin

I’ll lean on your shoulder as you kiss me, gentle

And our love, still young and darling as ever

Dearest! Shall keep us warm even in death’s own mantle

Fantastic! It makes you yearn for an age of simplicity and innocence. I loved it, another fantastic poem.
