Lace Frontin': A Poem on Wigs and Weaves

Updated on December 19, 2011

Lace Frontin'

No flat irons or chis

For the kinks in your mind

No wigs or weaves

Disguise your speech

Search for fault

Find what you seek

...

The analogy:

So it happens

Natural is nappy

What you lack in length

You find in strength

Break silky chains

Tangled intangibles

Twist into braids

...

Get carried away

Shake those bangs

Roots in your brains

Are the ones

You can change

The burden of beauty

Is cheap to maintain

...

Relax your mind

Let this hot comb

Cook in your kitchen

Leave in condition

Voila!

....

*You're a star!!*

lol...i really like this because i have natural hair and i don't knock weaves because they come in handy when your'e trying to let you hair rest or maybe going through a period where you don't have time but I'm so happy to be nappy.

Outstanding rhythmic and lyrical quality. It reads like a song. Very nice work. Thank you for presenting that.
