Lake of Dreams (poem)

Updated on August 24, 2015

Delay a day beside our lake of dreams

With kings and queens of all which waits ahead

As sun light guides imaginations’ streams

The banquet of our future there is spread

Reside beside our lofty lairs awhile

With we who rule this fragile realm of youth

Whose eyes of wonder swim to restless isle

Amid these waters of another truth

For soon may call the day of our decay

Distraction far beyond you skill to see

That we have let them take our lake away

That lake will never see its family

Delay a day and hold a loved one tight

Reside beside the dreams of your delight

Loved plunging into your lake of dreams and Sinatra's song just made it perfect.

Beautiful reminder of how precious each day is.

This poem has such symbolic value, Martin. Lost youth, lost innocence and lost environmental purity. Sinatra is a nice cap to this message.
