Last Train

Updated on February 25, 2012

This is the beginning of a possible story. I would love some feedback. Please and thank you =]

He stood in front of her in the pouring rain trying to remember everything in that very moment. Her wet hair plastered to her face, the scent of vanilla on her skin, her beautiful smile, and her eyes. He would always remember her striking green eyes, and the tears that streamed from them.

He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her eyelids.

“Please don’t cry Aubrey. This is only for a little while.” Kaiden said.

“I love you. You do know that right?” she replied

He scanned her face for a moment looking and stared deeply into her eyes.“Without a doubt baby girl.” he lied. Her eyes always gave her away.

He took her into his arms and kissed her forehead. He helped her carry her bag across the platform and gave her one last kiss goodbye. With a weak smile she glanced back at him one last time and boarded the train. It was at that moment Kaiden knew he would never see her again.

With a heavy sigh he watched the train depart from the station. Unable to look away, he stood there unable to believe that she had finally gone.

Was this the right decision? He thought. Does distance truly make the heart grow fonder?
