Leave The Less Important Things In Life Alone

Updated on December 27, 2012

You Will Be So Happy You Did

Life is a mish mash of the present and past

We want the future to be better

So let all the unimportant little things in your life go

Don't hold on to them anymore

They only bog you down and make you sad

They make you worry and feel bad

I should know I have a head full of things that creep in

They don't just bother me

They break me down and flatten me like a pancake

I have tried for years to let go

The aweful things from my past come out and threaten me

They say I am part of you and you have to keep me

Now I have learned it has never been true

They have been part of me but now I can let them go

They served their purpose and now it is time to move on

Holding on to a break up or a bad day

Just is silly and foolish nonsense

Feeling ashamed of something I did when I was smaller than a step stool isn't cool

Realizing that my life had it's share of not so good times

It is like a bad motor we make repairs and then it is fixed

We don't talk about the engine that use to over heat

Like are first car

A front tire that would always go flat

Breaks that sqweak and a car door that doesn't shut

We have moved on to another car with so many new and better things

A c.d. player that plays crystal clear music and those electric locks

Those bells that remind you that you left your keys in the ignition

The heat that comes out in an instant

Good bye plastic seats and hello those new soft comfortable cloth ones

A car that picks up speed in seconds and drives miles and miles without one repair

I compared my life to my car the second biggest purchase in my life

If I can let my old car go I can also let the bad things in my life go too

I have so many more things to look forward to

Each of my days is filled with nonstop love and so many more new memories

I have to go eat raviolies and my wifes home cooked sauce and meatballs

Homemade bread that I love so much

Then the night of romance to follow and the rest will come soon enough

Life is like that. We get used to living one way and get comfortable like sitting in a well worn recliner. But that is good at least we can say life is good and we don't get stressed out about not knowing what to expect.

MHatter99 If we look at our life we find bad feelings that we hold on to long after the incident has passed. Sometimes bad times that we don't let go and repeat over and over in our head.We are better off thinking of things that make us happy and finding ways of keeping those good times rolling.Thanx for sharing.
