Love is in Your Future~Leave the Past

Updated on September 10, 2015

Walk Away and Leave the Past

As I walked along the dark corridors of the High School

we attended,

I think of all the love we shared that is now amended.

Years ago---- and our love is living with the ghosts of

the past,

Were we too young for it to last?

Young love is often ridiculed by parents, whose wisdom

is deemed forth right,

However, what did they do----when their hearts sung about

nights of delight?

Leave Him in the Past
Leave Him in the Past
Romance Wakes the Heart
Romance Wakes the Heart
Couple Kissing---Silent Loving Moments
Couple Kissing---Silent Loving Moments

Could our parents who looked so stern and always

seemed discontented,

Really know that “True Love” is really destined.

Remember, your first kiss, how petrified and timid

you felt,

Until his soft lips touched yours in the sweetest kiss

—which made you

Living in the past where there are no tomorrows,

Wishing up wishes only renews past sorrows.

Snap-out of it---and get on with life,

Love in the past is a lot of strife.

It troubles your mind and drops your self-esteem

into the abyss,

It makes one want to hit something with their fist.

No matter how much you cannot find an equal lover,

You have to try, because there is always another.

What makes a mind wonder and care---- to only

soar into the darkest of despair?

Take a moment to think about what you should

tell a new lover---and how much

you shall share.

Make no promises to yourself---which your mind

cannot grasp,

Do not fill your heart with yesterday wishes and dreams

without a big clasp.

Life should be an adventure of living, loving and to give

your heart away completely,

If only we could roll our lives up into a bow and pin it to

our hearts so neatly.

Time is not our friend in an uncongenial mode,

Hurry find your Prince and kiss him before you

turn into a toad.

Walk away and never think back to another time and place,

Don’t think of his blue eyes, blond hair and handsome face.

Walk away---walk away,

Right now---today.

She is Still Alone
She is Still Alone

In Love Soon

Years have passed and still she is alone,

No one to call her own.

Has my heart died she ponder,

Or has it left my body and is out yonder.

Among the young and beautiful souls,

Whose past has no holes.

Only the sweetest of love can a heart beat fast,

Nor, can we expect it to not last.

For in our future one true love will always be,

And I am so glad that my heart has no eyes to see.

For it would truly break if it look at my sad face,

Because I want so desperately to be in another place.

But time can only time tell,

If I will be transported from this Hell.

Her best friend---

I told her not to be so negative and cry,

Because out there is a loving heart passing by.

Get out there and give it your best,

And Cupid will do the rest.

Be positive in your life,

And shut the door on strife.

Smile and many will smile back,

Yes, my Dear friend without any slack.

Cry and no one will come,

Get it all out until you are done.

The sun will shine on you today,

I will wave goodbye as you go on your way.

What a great friend you are to me,

I will be happy and in love soon---you will see.

First love is fresh, new, and you never forget it. But to act on it, most times, prove to be a mistake because of immaturity. But I still remember mine like yesterday. And if I saw him now, I would feel that same way, I'm sure.

    Up and awesome. AD

Very nice Bobbi! Is it possible to forget that first love? I think not, but I much prefer the one I have today. Great look back in time and great lesson on the importance of today.

I think that first love always teaches us something. We never seem to forget that first love and always seem to forget the bad that went with the good. Thanks for the memory but its time to come back to 2012.

    Oh, Debbie,

We all had a blue eyed guy in our lives--I believe---so handsome and sweet.

Thanks for the visit and reading my poem--I appreciate it.

    Hi Leaderofmany,

Yes, it is always good to visit the past, but then back to the present and the future for the wisest travelers.

Thank you for stopping by to read my hub, and also for commenting. I appreciate it.

Now, I do not believe that you cannot recall those days of young love in High School. A man that can write like you can---no way---you can not fool a Country Girl.

But I am happy you stopped by to read my hub, and for your comment. You have a great week.

    Hi billybuc,

It takes a very wise man to know when he has a good thing going for him---and it sounds like you do. I am so

happy for anyone who has the good sense to cherish what is looking them in the face.

The past is like an antique---it is old and should be respected--- and handle with care.

Bobbi, you do have your own style of poetry and I like it. to remember ALL of my past loves could take a while but if i would have been writing poetry then I probably would have been married and divoriced so many times, AgHHH.

Thank you for the visit and for your comments. It is always my pleasure to hear from you.

And I am sure most men would have too many past loves to write about. But I am sure some loves outshined the others.

Touching heartfelt. So hard to be on a woman's shoes. Your inspiration will relate to so many relationships that stayed in the past...apparently!

Beautiful!! Bobbi, you captured the past and gave great advice for the future. It is sweet to get lost in those memories of the first love in our youth and pretend we are that carefree, but it is also wonderful to experience the present and treasure our new memories. I loved it! Votes and shared!

I am happy to hear from you, and thank you for your sweet words of kindness. Yes, we all take a trip in the past once in a while--because without the past---how could we feel blessed in the present and future.

    Have a great week.

Bobbi....You're killing me, girl....yet I keep coming back for more. Exposing your heart & soul, forces me to see within myself & face regrets and loss I can never replace, nor re-live again....

I'd done such a wonderful of retreat and denial.

Walking away is in vain for me....the pain comes with me.

I love this hub and I hate this lead to the mirror....but the image haunts me.

UP ....awesome..sharing....and a copy to carry.

We are layers of emotions as we live this life, and only pull each layer back---if we dare--- to view the past.

I am happy you get my poems--not all people do.

Thank you for visiting me again.

Bobbi-My high school love was also blond with blue eyes. I hope he wasn't seeing both of us. LOL

Your poem is powerful and I thought the style of the writing was incredible. It is easy to think of past love and put it on a pedestal. Sometimes the fantasy is better than how it may have turned out in a marriage situation. I hit many buttons!

    Hi Minnetonka Twin,

That would be funny if we all loved the same blond Hunk with blue eyes.

Thank you for visiting and for your comment--I haven't talk to you in a while. I hope all is well and that life is wonderful for you and yours.

You take us back to times of love and tell us it is okay to walk away. A great message and well done in format too Bobbi.

    Thank you Christy,

We need the past, and it is fine to visit---but we all need to live in the present and future.

I wrote this poem after I listened to a friend talk about all her past loves, and I told her to leave the past and live in the future.

Thanks for your visit and comment.
