Leaves Those Wonderful Leaves

Updated on April 16, 2011

Where To Begin

They make their final descent in the fall and now in the spring they are everywhere

I know I raked them up last year

No matter how fast I raked them they would find a way to cover the ground

But then it got too cold and I said I would finish them in the spring

So here I am with pile after pile of these beautiful leaves

They are brown and kind of dull in color

But you can paint them all different colors what a fun idea

You can toss them in the air and watch them scatter

You can get a running start and dive into them without getting hurt

After it rains they are kind of nasty

If you have to rake them up they are heavier and stick to the ground

I have so many piles they look like ant hills from the biggest ant farm ever

I created a new imaginary game in my head

Where I pretend each leaf is a dollar bill and I am loaded with money

So much money

I can throw some away and have plenty more where that came from

I can rip them and even burn them

But why would you want to do that

You can give a pile to each one of your friends and enemies too and still have many piles left

You can give bag after bag to the charities and not miss one thing

There are so many leaves I mean piles of money

I try to stuff it in big paper bags

I jam the money in as tight as I can and try to lug them across the yard

So nobody would notice each bag is marked marked leaf bag

I love the idea that nobody will catch on

I can leave the money right in plain sight in the yard and nobody will think anything of it

I line them up 10 bags in rows of two

I am a little more than half done

This is my lucky day

I can't rake them up fast enough

The more I find the more I want

They are everywhere

Wedged inbetween plants and hidden under branches

This is my private Fort Knox with no bars and no windows

A breeze comes along and I have to go chasing some so they don't get away

There is fish pond in my yard and it is loaded with bills

Before the winter came last year I took all the fish out and moved them to a bigger pond because they freeze in the little pond

Now I can call this the money pond and it is chock full of bills rising to the top and some buried deep in the water

What a life

Now I have to get cracking and think of all the ways to spend tons of money

That kept my mind occupied while my back was breaking and my hands were getting sore

I started getting a head rush from bending so much

How could I not

All the money left there for the taking

I went out in the yard early this morning and after a quick break back out again

I just can't get enough

I am rolling in the dough

Nice to be wealthy and I will have to think of smart ways to invest money tomorrow

The darkness started rolling in around 7:30

I hated to go in even though I can't see where all the scattered money is

Tomorrow is another day I can't wait to fill more bags up

All my exsaustion has disappeared

I don't think I am going to sleep a wink tonight

I might even get up extra early

I had to laugh today when some of the money got stuck in the rake head

I had to pull it out more than once

Other people would complain doing all the work I did

Geting dirty and being so tired of picking up more and more leaves

Not me I am happy as I will ever be

Being rich is a feeling in the mind

I have it bad I lost track of time

Remember when leaves turn into money we all become extremely wealthy
