Let It Rain

Updated on April 16, 2011

When The Rain Clouds Come

Let it rain

Let it pour

I don't want the sun anymore

Give me darkness

Give me night

I don't want to live in the light

My eyes are getting heavy

All I want to do is sleep

I should try to stay awake

But my resolve is getting weak

And I see the rain clouds coming

And I don't want to miss the storm

Give me the thunder and the lightning

And I'll stay awake 'till morn

All through the night

I will shiver with the cold

And the rain will come

And I will watch it fall

I will go outside

It will drench me to the bone

But nobody can follow

I must go alone

Do you feel your chest begin to tighten?

Do you feel your heart begin to fall?

Do you see the rain cloud that is coming?

Let it rain

Let it pour

Sometimes it's to dark to see

And I'm to cold to feel

I'm drowning in the rain

Only none of this is real

Here I am, standing

Underneath the sun

Wishing for the cold, dark night

And for the rain to come

Let it rain

Let it pour

I don't want the sun anymore

Living in Oregon, where we get 30 or 40 inches of rain mostly in the Winter, this strikes a chord. But, I do like the rain and it never bothers me too much until about March, when I am ready for Spring. We have had no rain now since early July. Up!

That was beautiful, I know that kind of pain all too well. These days if I feel that, I can look into my three year old little girls eyes and I can feel the sun:)

That was beautiful. It's about depression right? I feel the same way when I'm down. All I want is to sit in my room in the darkness and listen to the pounding rain. This is really good writing.

I really like this. Where I live it has been nonstop storming for days now, and I am loving every minute of it. There is something about a thunderstorm that makes like...better. Good poem!! :)
