Let Our Dreams Collide

Updated on May 24, 2017

Lightning Strikes

You get a chance to express your thoughts

In such a way

When you were a kid

You went outside to play

You brought your favorite ball

Tossing it around

Having so much fun watching it hit the ground

Then you found someone

Who like you had her own toy

She had her little doll

She made the doll do all kinds of things

She would laugh and sing

Now a ball and a doll don't go together

Unless you both have something in common

A good imagination that makes anything possible

As the boy and the girl talked

They knew both their toys were the best they have ever seen

For many years they each enjoyed their favorite toy

Out of the blue

They each passed their toy to see what the other had to say

Both thought the other toy was intesting and fun

As they passed the toy back and now held their own toy once again

They began to explain how nice it was to share

Even for a second

Their toy never left their sight

Never mind letting someone else play with it

At that moment they were friends

Up to now no other boys and girls had any interest in the faded blue ball or the hand woven cloth doll

Soon it was time to go

Both waved bye

The boy and the girl both couldn't wait till the next time they would talk

Telling each other

Of all the adventures where each the ball and the doll had been

Manatita44 In life we meet people that inspire us to push to our own potential. At the same time we try to help others so they reach farther than they thought possible. Lifting up and helping when things our tough. These people are mentors or true friends. How blessed our we to experience life in its tiniest form and make it grow. There are so many people that don't see what we see. They actually hold us back and knock us to the ground when we are down. I am always asking myself why? Life would be so much easier if we all had more friends. Thank you for your comment. I hope your day gets even better.

This poem makes the right sense to me! Yes, two can join together, even though from two different worlds, and combine thoughts and ideas, and make the colors of a rainbow shine that much brighter. Truth! Thank you for sharing these wondrous thoughts!

      Hugs,

      Tamara

Check this line "They began to explain how nice is was to share" and the line four lines later.

Childhood play was life's preparation for sure!

Tamara Moore I am glad you read my hub. To often in the past people say one thing and they do something all together different. I learned to stop judging people but I think one way and some how people think different. I try to find the right words to express my thoughts and feelings. As crazy as it seems sometimes no words can be found. I often think there are people out there in the world that want to enjoy life and at the same time make other people happy. So many people think that is a weakness and people will take all they can. I feel then they needed it more than me. Time is so rare. So every time I get to write I think what if this is the last story. Will I have told the world who I am. The truth is no. I am just starting to scratch the surface. It will be God's will if I finish. All I know I try every day my best and look to meet good people who share the same values. Other people are like mud on your tires. Unavoidable and one day it will wash off. Then just when you think no more mud the rain comes and you have mud again. I have a tendency to scare people away and my wife says often I don't get that. As long as you do that is all that matters. Thank you for reading and sharing. I hope your day and night are both beautiful.

Demas W Jasper Thank you for your suggestions. I often get ahead of myself and I am so happy and proud to get the thoughts out I miss little and big mistakes. I proof read everything myself. I think my proof reader was tired. At anytime you want to point out the errors in my writings I do appreciate it. You will probably give up after a few hubs and think this is hopeless. I use to rewrite my hubs three to five times on paper picking out mistakes before my final copy. Then so many times I never get it to print. I run out of time. Now I have over three hundred stories not finished. So I took a different approach. Proof read it once and finish it. Then make changes neccessary later. How do you write? Some people write it once and it comes out perfect. Are you one of those people? That is such a gift. I am more of a rough writer. I have to work my poems until they sound right in my head. It takes time and I kind of put the strict English ruLes on hold for the time being. Well I hope you enjoyed my hub and will read many more. With less errors I hope. (Lol)

Tamara Moore I enjoyed your hub and you know how to dream as well as write. You are out of my league. I would be honored to keep writing together and see as new dreams come from old dreams. We are covering new territory. There are no rules. Just fun in the sun. Words on paper. Thoughts turned to dreams what a crazy combination. Who does that? I can think of two people. Thank you for sharing. I am not the fastest writer or reader but if you will hang on I am swinging on the branch behind you,

      Yes Sir.

Sharing is loving. No one does it as sincerely as the children do. Your imagination is inspiring. "How nice it was to share" -and it is a seed for lasting friendship/relationship.

      Have a blessed day.

Michael-Milec As we get older I feel we lose sight of the beauty that we once seen. Just because we age it doesn't mean we have to change the good things about ourselves that make us who we are. Friendships teach us about sharing and in return we give not to get but in return learn so much more. Thank you for reading and leaving such a nice compliment.

Most delightful playmates. I had a really good imagination as a child and even gave tea parties for my stuffed animals.

Gypsy Rose Lee Those were the days anything was possible. A small pile of dirt was a mountain. A puddle was a lake. A few toy men was an army. So good to remember how much fun it was just playing and using our imagination. Thank you so much for reading and sharing. Shyron E Shenko Enjoying every moment laughing and thinking of all the good things in life. So when we grow old we can carry all the enthusiasm into everything we do. I had some computer trouble and it set me back a few days. Thanks for being patient for all my late responses. Wishing everyone a happy and fun filled day chock full of new and great experiences.
