Let me be a kid again

Updated on June 10, 2016

In the bright sunshine,
near the puddle, on the grass green,
let me play and have fun.

I am never done with my running,
i keep screaming,
"Many games are still pending.!!!"

But my mummy drags me in,
I know not, that,
my body is terribly tired, and needs rest.

Its when she lifts me,
to feed me,
that i knew i am already asleep.

I would like to be a kid again.

Yes....to be a kid again...a little kid again would be fine for a day or two...back in the carefree days of playing and being bathed in the glories of nature was my job.....

      well done....

The golden time of childhood as a kid is revived by going through the lines in your poem in the golden period of adulthood.

Nice poem. It is something that I think of very often, especially when I see my 2 year old daughter playing. Keep up the great work!

Aww Bhaiya! So coute. We all cousions have choreographed some steps on this song to dance on one of my cousin's bithday today. Today is the dancy-dancy day! Loved your poem. Oh to the childhood!

Some lines by Jagjit ji in Hindi:

Ye daulat bhi le lo... ye shourat bhi le lo... bhale chheen lo mujhse meri jawani... magar mujho ko lauta do bachpan ka saavan... vo kaagaz ki kashti... vo baarsih ka paani. Whoa!

      Well,it is amazing.

      I wanna be kid again

      Mommy would sing a rhyme

I would sleep, but still engaged in a dream

      In dream,it would rain

      I wanna be kid again.

Amazing poetry Hari.lots of love and gratitude

Ah, to be a kid again, swimming at the public pool, riding our bikes, dancing at the ' shack ' playing the jukebox. Then going back, playing in the sandbox, mama's tender love. Yes, I'd like to be a kid again....

Thank you much north. You are so right. We should be guilty that in our urban life styles, our children will never even get to do this. We probably are the last to have got this fun and may be carefree life too. Thanks for your wonderful and lovely comments. I cherish them.

Hari ji the words of ur composition hv taken back to the world of fun, childish pranks, carefree life n the affection we all got from our mothers. I can recall the words "give me another chance..."
