Lets Flip The World Over And Start Again

Updated on September 23, 2010

What You See Is What You Get

There are no hidden pictures

Everything is left in the open for everyone to see

Unfortunately magic can't help or the worlds greatest magicians would of tried

There is no time to cry or even have tears in your eyes

The world is what we make of it

So if it isn't what you want

Find a way to change it

It is not rocket science

We don't need politicians and congressmen

We just have to do whats right for everyone

Ah you can't wait to tell me that is the problem

No one thinks the same

We are never going to agree what is right

So there will always be people that fight

Maybe you have a point

This world has been around for longer than anyone could ever imagine

Each day we find new evidence that what we thought was true was a lie

So lets move forward and help each other before we die

Is that so hard to think big and do something small for a neighbor who you do not know

If we walk away now

We walk away on our future

We can all stay depressed and lonely

We can continue telling others how bad the world is

We can perpetuate the negative thinking until things end up in a total disaster

Why not try a different approach

One that just might work

Helping others find a way

To fix one problem at a time

If we work together we are better off then when we started

We may not have the solution yet

But one step closer is so much better than cursing all day

We have filled our minds with hope and prayer

I know that this is one life I have and I am willing to share

You may never know if I DON'T TELL YOU SO

If you don't listen I can't change who you are

I can just seek others like myself who want to be happier now than ever

Look at the babies and see the future through their eyes

One filled with great promise and love

For they are starting over like I wish we all could

Remember a car is as only as good as the engine under the hood

Neillieanna You inspire others with a whisper.I have to make sure I hear everything.I listen closely and reread the words you write to make sure I understood your meaning. Then I reread it again just because it makes me happy. Then I can read it again anytime just to keep me focused and centered.I will check out the author.Thank you so much. One tip in the right direction.See I could of gone my whole life without ever reading about Antoine de Saint Exupery. How much would I have missed. Now through a friend I can learn more and live more because of it.You are so right about those people who don't care. But I find they stay around alot longer than I would like.Like when you step into dog mess as a kid.You thought you got it all off your sneaker when you rubbed it on the grass. But there was always just a little more to remind you its not gone and keep you agrivated once more.Your friends told you too.I am so glad you have had the time to read a line or two that I write. This will be a day for me to remember. It is dreary outside and rainy.Inside I am bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm. You have a way of turning my world round and round.:)

You're an inspiration. Yes, we can do what needs to be done by doing it one step at a time. I like your snowball metaphor, too. Do you know the author Antoine de Saint Exupery? He wrote "The Little Prince" - for kids of all ages; as well as several books about his passion, flying - back in the earlier days of flight. Anyway - this theme we're talking about reminds me of a quote of his: "What saves a man is to take a step and then another step. It's the same step, but he has to take it." Somehow it captures the thought that we need to keep on keepin' on and that's the secret of getting there. Your poem tells it so well.

By the way - no need to discard those who don't see; they seldom stick around anyway. If they do and it's to try to change us, they'll soon tire of that, too. (wink)

Nellieanna I take my biggest problem I have in life and break it down.I make my problem a big snowball.I cut chunks away slowly.I keep taking small pieces until I see the snow ball start to crack and fall apart little at a time. The more I get done the more I have to go.But I know through experience this is the only way. Then when the snowball starts to melt I am estatic and keep at it until I see it get smaller and smaller. Then I know I finally have done what I could of never done before. The big snowball is too much for anyone to tackle. We all can do the same thing and before you know it all our problems can be solved. It just takes time and understanding. There is nothing like teamwork.Thank you for spending the time to teach me so many things.I may type but with an open mind and a giving heart to those who understand life is to be shared and enjoyed by everyone. Those who don't see what I see I just discard like junk mail.It comes often but once you sort through it you have a little important information that you can use in the future. The rest is just clutter that consumes your time and space.Thank you and may I find the knowledge that others left behind.

This is so good and this line is almost my personal mantra:

"To fix one problem at a time" -

This has to be one of your best. Both the poem and the message. You are a gem. I say it again. God bless you for reminding us all that the only way to eat an elephant is one little bite at a time. xx
