Poetry: Let's Just Be Friends

Updated on March 1, 2013

To love someone who doesn't love you back, or not in the way you love them can be devastating. One of the most cliched lines used to show your disinterest s, Let's Just Be Friends.

I'm empty

I'm weak

Just dying inside

The pain

So complete

There's nowhere to hide

All chances

All hopes

Gone with the wind

Down I descend

Can't take

The looks

Longing aside

I cry

Dying to hide

To smile

To laugh

I do as a front

Mere plays

To weak to confront

Deep down

I know

The pain will not end

Sweet Agony

So poetic

Like "Let's still be friends."

      Hello Kaiyan17,

I know "Let's still be friends" are some of the most painful words to hear when somebody we love says them. Will it help to know most people hear them at one time or other? We do bounce back. I know it seems impossible now. But you wouldn't want to stay with somebody who didn't return the strength and depth of your own feelings. Life will get better in time. Promise.
