Rewind to 6 years ago a few months before she met David.

Ariane hated what love she had left for Jack. It's been a year since she had saw him. She hated the mystery he had left behind. How he had just left her without a word to leave her wondering and alone abandoned by his love. She spent night after night when he first disappeared looking for him. She drove up and down the coast to where she usually found him before late at night but found no sign of him. She ended up leaving more alone and hurt than before she left. All she remembered was the street lights beaming bright and the pain in her stomach from missing him.

Running into Chuck helped her. When Chuck told her how Jack was a womanizer some of the pain had left her body. Although she didn't want to believe what a jerk he was part of her believed it and gave her an excuse not to miss him anymore. Chuck was a thin wiry guy who lusted after Ariane. As he was saying this all to her she felt his eyes scanning her body watching her plump breasts beneath her blouse waiting for one of her buttons to open so he can have a peek. He imagined sucking on her nipples gently and biting until she screamed. Ariane was disgusted with the way Chuck watched her as she spoke to him.

"Chuck" she said.

"Huh?" He replied.

" I asked you where Jack is. You keep telling me how he was with this girl and that girl. Where is he now?" she asked.

" I think he's living with some girl. I have his number. You can call him if you want." Chuck said.

She couldn't believe it. All of the old memories swarmed her head and heart for a minute. Then she came back to reality. After a year of not hearing from Jack she was finally going to talk to him. She had so many things to say to him so many things she wanted to find out. She called him from her cell phone. It rang three times. No answer. Straight to voice mail. "The number you have reached is unavailable leave a message after the beep..." the machine said in a dull monotone.

Arian started, " Hi Jack. Guess who? I would like to talk to you. Call me back at this number."

Ariane was tired of how Jack left her. She was holding on to old memories and just wanted to say her last goodbyes. She was hoping he would call her back so she can tell him what he didn't give her the chance to before to. She was just angry and disappointed as hell for how he left without closure. She hated how she wasted her time looking for him hoping for him to come back. That's why a few months ago when she ran into one of his acquaintances she slept with him. It was the biggest mistake she had made.

His name was Ken. He had dark hair and beady blue eyes that looked like he was squinting all the time. She always thought his nose was a little too big for his face. She met him at a party four years ago when her and Jack started dating. He was just a guy who lived at his dad's house. His dad was never home and he pretty much owned it. He was an arrogant asshole and she didn't like him from the beginning. His macho b.s. didn't impress her. He ended up fooling around with one of her slutty friends and that was the last she heard of him. She could tell he liked her by the way he stared but she didn't care. She was in love with Jack. Jack was her world. Nobody could ever compete with him. Until he left her.

Her friend Gabby met Ken at some party. Gabby liked him but would never admit it. Ariane knew that name sounded familiar. "Ken? I know him. He left the marines? I didn't even know he was in the marines" she said.

"Yeah, he's in AA now. He was a big alcoholic and was asked to leave the marines. Let's all go out. You can get reintroduced." Gabby said.

"Ok." Ariane said. She didn't have anything better to do lately with Jack gone.

They went out to some bar a few night later. Ken kept hitting on Ariane all night while Gabby was getting jealous wondering why she wasn't getting hit on. She tried everything she could to put Ariane down. She was wondering why he didn't like her. She blamed it on the fact that they were both in AA and it wouldn't be right.

Ken called up Ariane the following morning. " Ariane, let's go out. Put on a pair of jeans and a sexy top." Ariane wasn't having it. She said she was busy that day and that they can go out tomorrow and she'll wear whatever she wants. He seemed disappointed that she won't bow down to his needs but said, "Ok. See you tomorrow."

Ken ended up taking her shopping. All things for himself and his house. He bought stuff for his kitchen and his bedroom. Then they went to a Hawaii themed restaurant for a non-alcoholic drink for him and an alcoholic one for her. She didn't know how much more of his arrogance she can take while she's sober.

They talked and then asked her back to his place. She went. He was hinting at sleeping with her there while putting on his new sheets oh his bed. She ended up telling him she had to go and she left.

She was thinking about just sleeping with him so Jack would find out. She wanted to hurt Jack like Jack hurt her. So, the next time she went out with Ken. She slept with him. It was normal for the most part. Not the best sex she had ever had though. Especially since she never really had sex with anyone besides her long term relationships and that one night stand she regretted a month ago. Ken seemed pleased with himself that he had her. He asked her out again. This time it wasn't so normal.

They started kissing and Ken became a little too aggressive. He started spanking her. Asking her to yell back at him. "Who's a slut!?!" he would shout. She was really uncomfortable and wanted to stop but he didn't let her. "Who's a whore?!" he yelled again. She had it. She got up and tried to put her clothes on. He grabbed her and threw her on the bed.

"Oh no, you don't. You are going to finish this!" he said.

"No, I'm not. I'm leaving." Ariane said getting back up.

That's when Ken grabbed her by the neck told her to go down on him shouting in her face. She started crying. All he said was "What are you crying for? That's what you came here for didn't you?" She was scared and did what he said. He went to put a blindfold on her.

After he put the blindfold on she could hear some rattling in his closet. She heard metal clink. Ken started grabbing her arms to handcuff her to the bed. There were chains that were secured under his bed to bind her feet with. He had all these objects he took out. After he was done he then told her to get him a glass of water naked. She did. She was too scared not to. Then he kicked her off the bed.

She got dressed fast and ran out of his house shocked and wanting to cry. She was thinking of what a freak he was. Was this date rape? She got into her car and he called her on the phone. "Let's go out this weekend again." he said. "OK." she said and hung up not knowing what to do or say. She was too afraid to call the police or tell anyone. She didn't understand what just happened. She disconnected herself from the emotions of it. She knew inside that she hated him and regretted ever going out with him.

I love the continuation. Very strong writing. I think it is important for people to understand the difference between love and lust, because you can make painful mistakes if you can't. You illustrate this issue with words very well, carolinemd21.

Sorry, Caroline, I said I would read your story, but I only read to the end of Part 2. I would have put this in an email but saw no way to do that, so I won't be too critical: Mainly you need a ton more dialogue. Also, you go in and out of past and present. You can have just one or the other/story. Lastly, I think in a story like this, Ariane alone should have the viewpoint.

Thanks for your comment brandasaur. LOL Ken I guess can be hilarious. He's supposed to be a egotistical narcissistic a******. You are right we need to save love for ourselves and love ourselves the most out of everybody. :)

Ooh my gosh.. This KEN is very hilarious and a very big disappointed. Lesson learned, never think of a revenge when someone dump you. Then, don't love too much, leave something for yourself because we don't know when and how will our love relationship with last.
