Letting go again .....a poem

Maybe this time before the water , the window
and the clouds reflect my
lovers face over and again

The perfect example of knowing
the difference from lover
to friend

What is it ....this curse of being the
healer the helper of broken
hearts and torn souls

Damned if I ever learn to just
help without mixing
up the

To smile and listen to learn
to heal
and then
walk away

Smile will you
you fool
you healed a heart

But no I'll fall over and over
again for the tears
the wounds
the heartache

Never really learning just
how much
how hard
how long
my fall will take

Aw, Ed, this is so true for all, but maybe especially men, as you are so sensitive to those with broken hearts, as many of us are, and then I think men do tend to get their emotions mixed up. There is a fine line between friendship when helping another through the pain of a broken heart, and then (for men) to not get the signals crossed into it being more of a relationship than it really is. Plus when trying to help someone with a broken heart, they are in transition and really are not ready for another relationship if truth be told, even if they pour out their soul to you, it does not mean such as you have written here. I think a lot goes back to communication and emotions.

The heart is such a tricky thing no doubt. Thanks for this most genuine write here.

      Voted up ++++ and sharing

      Hugs and love,
