'Life Is A Numbers Game'.
Throw enough mud and some will stick.
This is one of MY favourite sayings. It means more or less the same as ' Life Is A Numbers Game' in my view. The only difference is that some have to ' Throw More Mud' than others in order to make it stick.
You see none of us are born equal. We all come into this life at different stations. Some get things more easily and therefore seem not to have to work quite as hard as others. Now me, I seem to have to work flat out just to get by. No privileges here.
The more I think about it, the more I believe it is down to education. And not as you may think, academic education. Some of us are able to take things on board much quicker than others and act on information without question. They just know sometimes that what they see or hear will work for them. They just go out and get the job done.
Now I, as I have grown older, I seem to analyse everything to the point where I over complicate and never get the benefit of just doing something as it is. Maybe you can relate to this, I don't know. What I do know, is that I have always been good at going through the numbers to get results or make money in a job. It would appear that I have always been attracted to this kind of job. What do I mean? Well let me tell you about some of the jobs I have had and you can decide for yourself and either agree or disagree with me.
My numbers game jobs.
Type of Job

I'm just going through the numbers.
As you can see from some of my jobs I was always destined to go through the numbers. Now I don't know about you but it tells me to keep going until my number comes up. One day very soon I will come across the one thing that will do it for me. I have to believe that. Maybe it is the writing that has been waiting for me to find IT. I do hope so as it is being creative which excites me the most. Going out day after day, earlier and earlier get's less appealing everyday. I bet you can relate to that.
Numbers and the boss.
This is something I never seem to get my head around. When it comes to giving 100% for the boss we never hesitate. Give 100 % to yourself in whatever you do for yourself first should be the goal here. But we never do. Could it be a British thing? I somehow don't think so.
Do you have experience of going through the numbers?
What does it mean?
I should perhaps have said 'what is the significance?' The significance for me, having thought long and hard about it, means that I have been destined to face the pain of having to go through the numbers to make me stronger and to really appreciate the struggle. The appreciation and recognition of the struggle will be so sweet when I get to my final destination.....whatever that maybe and whenever that maybe, but I am not there yet.
It's all about the decisions we make along the way.
Only you know what is right for you. At this very moment you are where you are as a sum total of the DECISIONS you have made so far in your life. The decisions you now consciously make are the ones that will define your life from now on. Make decisions and don't be afraid to make decisions. It will be the only thing that will move you forward. If you stop or let others decide for you then you will fail. Nobody wants to fail. You have heard many times before that so long as you keep getting back up when you get knocked down you will stay in the fight. The first time you don't get back up then you are done and will be destined for mediocrity.
Acknowledge your mistakes.
Mistakes and poor decisions must be acknowledged then forgotten about. There is no need to give energy to them because that is what you are doing every time you think back to them. Bury them and move on. There will be plenty more mistakes along the way. The only difference now is that you have recognised this and will be able to get by them. Move on because the best is always yet to come.
If you fail to plan you plan to fail.
How many times have you heard this? Too many times I bet. The ironic thing is that some of you reading this have yet to make your plan. When will it be your turn? Have things yet to get so painful that you don't need to plan. Is your life bearable enough you think you are exempt? Believe me and I hope it never happens but when things are so tough that you don't know which way to turn if you have a plan you will know that you will not fail. If things get so tough and you don't have a plan then you will wish you had one. Get started today, plan where you are going.
'If you keep doing the things you have always done, you will get what you've always got'.
This is your queue for change.
What's the plan?
I don't know what you want to achieve. My plan is to be successful and success to me is being totally self sufficient. I plan to do this by creating a lifestyle that will achieve all of my financial goals, replacing my income from my full time, more than full time, day job. When I replace that income and can maintain my lifestyle through writing will be my goal achieved as a minimum. Creating passive income and an income which will continue to be generated whether I work or not has got to be the ultimate goal. Residual Income in other words. Many have done before me and many are working towards this today, right now, this minute. Why not you and I?
What is your reason to achieve?
- Lack of time
- No money
- Time back with loved ones
- To help someone out
- School or college fees
- A wedding
- To afford a new car
- To buy a house
We all have our reasons, make sure your reason is big enough and keep it where you can see it at all times. Think about it everyday and do something everyday to propel you forward.
Measure your progress regularly. If it isn't working always revise your plan to get you going again. Be tough on you. Remember you do it everyday to make the dreams and plans of your employer come true. Do it everyday for you, bit by bit you can do it.
Good luck in whatever you plan.
