Life Is Full Of Meanings

Updated on November 7, 2010

Just Take Another Look

If don't like what you see

Change it

If you don't like what you do

Do something different

LIfe is all about living

If you are going to be around for fifty years or so

Why not make it a life you would die for

Make it a life others dream about

You have to start somewhere

Why not start now

You don't have to change your life completely

Just one thing at a time

It took all this time to get the way it is

Now it is going to take awhile to make things different

It all starts with an idea

Your idea

You can compain all your life

Where will it get you

Nowhere fast

Just a lot of aggrivation and headaches and less friends

Now look on the other hand

Right or left hand it doesn't matter

What do you see?

A palm with a long long life line

So lets turn this day around and do something fun

Leave that old ghost of a shell

Make a day filled with some good thoughts

Take in a movie or call up a few friends

They will always make you laugh

Well heres a toast to life and all the good you do

Don't listen to others if they don't help you feel good

 What do they know

You are your own best expert

Make a day that will please you in every way

Luckily we do have a variety of experiences from which our life is built. All the same stuff wouldn't do it. It would be boring and monotonous, even pure unchallenged joy.

But I have a personal credo (which has been known to raise eyebrows of the more "life-is-hard" folks, because they fail to understand its meaning). It is: "If it can't be fun, why do it?" Now I admit that on first glance it looks like a hedonistic, self-gratifying philosophy. But that is not the meaning at all. What it means is similar to "when you find life gives you lemons, make lemonade". - It is not what happens to us that matters but what we make of what happens. If a person can't be happy "right here right now" - no matter what is going on around him or her - then there is no possibility of any external thing "making" him or her happy. Happiness or joy is not "found" outside oneself, it is created within oneself. If the task is dreary, sing while doing it! If it is sad, find the silver lining. We don't have to be laughing to have joy. But we have to FEEL joyous at the core of ourselves. We can cry when we are sad, be mad when we are stumped, be disgusted or tired - whatever. But at our core - we are happy and mitigate the "negatives" even while experiencing them. And we can try to make the externals more agreeable, but our happiness must not DEPEND on externals anyway.

Nellieanna You have taken all which was not the greatest and churned it like butter. To make things taste sweet and without your love it would of otherwise been bitter. The other wonderful times stand without question truely happiness with all its blessings.I listen and learn from those who teach out of the joy it brings them in life. Thanks again.

I had a happy enough childhood, but I was fully born @ age 40. That was after a very trying 18 years which were like a baptism of fire. Not all sweetness and light, you see.

I'm happy for you, in any case. You're a great person.

Dim Flaxenwick It is easy to look at life my way. Just put on the darkest pair of sunglasses you have and where them all day long. Then when you take them off you see. I mean you really see everything in a different light.Wonderful and exciting and we even appreciate the things that bothered us so so much before. It will last for awhile and when it wears off you know what to do.I really enjoyed having you over too bad you couldn't of stayed for lunch.Maybe next time.

Nellieanna Some people have to have some time frame to set their game plan. Some won't even try if they feel they have already lived their life. You are an exception to the rule. From the day you could walk I don't see anything less than a life of endless love and courage to go on to new depths and discoveries. For me it was age 20.I honestly felt I had to max out on everything for the next 20 years.I gave it all I had.Mentally and physically I am a working progress. Some things don't meet in the middle.Your expectations and efforts never go unrewarded. It is just in their own time.I need to buy a new watch that keeps father time. For all my life I constantly give thanks. So a big thanks to you!

can you believe i am still sick. I travelled an hour on Friday to a herbalist, and was delighted to get some medication from him. I am very run down, and stressed, have had lots of trauma over the last year or so, but now i am looking after myself a bit better. Sunday i slept nearly all day.... and today i am resting.
