Life Is Shining On Me

Updated on May 24, 2014

Beauty Is In The Air

We all wait for special moments

Many times brief but so powerful

They are so influencial in our lives

They give us a boost when we are dragging

Sometimes we are alone and it is too bad no one is around to see

Then there are times that we are in a group and some people take notice

You can hear friends or family talk

How lucky can one person be

It's their day

I don't believe it

You have done nothing different than any day before

Even though clearly something really fascinating is happening

You are in your zone

I like to think we are connected to all things wise and wonderful

We are like a perfectly tuned guitar playing our best

Every step and movement becomes smooth

An invisible force has guided us to peace

A pleasure that keeps satisfying our spirit

Like our favorite ice cream does for our taste buds

Sweet and delicious

Soon this unforgettable instant will pass

We can always look back at it and recall

A joyous day it was

As if it was your birthday

A day that became more special than any other

So when this happens to you

I will be watching and clapping at the same time

So shocked and proud

I will remind you that you are walking on air

You have found a way to pull everything in sight and out of sight together

Like a doctor who performs a brilliant surgery

A young girl who rides a bike for the first time

Opening your first present at Christmas

Getting a good grade for a class that you worked so hard for

Waking up from a restful nights sleep

Going swimming on a hot day

Learning how to read for the first time

Taking a clean shower when you are all dirty

Seeing a girl smile back when she looks into your eyes

Take all these times and mix them all together

Like ingredients to your favorite recipe

You have all the things that mean the world to me

Nellieanna To watch a few thoughts take shape by slowly molding them gently into existence what a wonderful thing. Seeing deep like a well waiting to bring up the next refreshing drink of water. That comes from far under left untouched until you make the effort. You realize there is enough for everyone so no need to be selfish. As you pass the water around some people are so happy and others think of it as just water. It is amazing how one thing can be so great to one person and nothing special to another. Thank you so much for your comment.

It's a good metaphor - putting one's overly insistent thoughts 'on ice'. We can develop a mental freezer compartment and send them packing into there if they become too demanding!

We may have to remind ourselves that they're 'not welcome in the loop' if and when they try to sneak out into it and grab all our attention again. But then - back they go onto the mind's freezer!

Our minds are powerful resources that must be disciplined at times so that we can lay aside the events and thoughts of each day in order to be able to clear the slate and to relax our minds and to get the vital sleep our brains and bodies must have to live and function well, as well as to apply our minds to resolving our real daily challenges and choices during our waking hours.

We have the sole responsibility to attend to our necessary needs before giving away our mind-power and thoughts to matters over which we have no control and can extract no benefit for ourselves or other. Yet those invasive temptations can beset us in the unwary moments, and try to insist we relinquish our choices about them. So - back to the freezer they go ~ :-)

Nellieanna Thanks to you I learned how to slow down. Before I had too many thoughts at once and I couldn't get one out before the other one would pop up. I thought long and hard and came up with a solution. When I get thoughts racing through my head like cars in traffic during rush hour.I think what would Nellieanna do ? I am not sure but I know what I can do. I go to a grocery store and ask them if I can go into their big meat freezer than I put a few extra thoughts on ice and I say I will come back for them later. Then when I pick them up later they can take hours to defrost. So it's a slow process and I love every step of the way. All my happiness right back at you. Thank you.
