Life Juice

Updated on February 19, 2014

Heavy lids on tired eyes

still halfway shut, it's time to rise

My covers up, my pillow finds

my head cannot leave it behind

I barely seem to think of things

Iphone alarm inflicts it's sting

I hit the snooze and try to bring

ten minutes more of slumbering

I finally break the spell

the bed imprisons, I post bail

make it downstairs without fail

somethings brewing, all is well

liquid magic, burns a little going down

light that fire in my brain, need to bring my head around

liquid magic, I'm addicted to your rush

give me what I need to make it, think I'll have another cup

fog is lifting slowly still

won't be very long until

my hair stands up, that's how I feel

another gulp will seal the deal

i'm running late, it's out the door

i never know just what's in store

embrace the day now that I'm more

caffeinated, that's for sure!

scottstone, life is not merely breathing alone and your beautiful poem proves it. To feel the pulse of life is real living and how blissful it can be is an eternal topic of contemplation. I loved reading this pretty piece. All happiness and piece. Voted up with all my heart ! :-)
