Life is one long Mystery (A poem by Richard Mawby)

Updated on December 2, 2013

What is life?

Can you summarise the very essence of what it stands for?

Below is a short poem that I believe answers the above questions. It is a short piece of writing that has remained close to my heart, so much so that I have memorized it and can recite to anyone who wishes to hear this unique and touching piece. These words suddenly flowed from my thoughts and as each one appeared I wrote them down, therefore what you are about to read is pure inspiration from an origin of something greater, drawn from beyond our conscious minds. I believe that although it is short, it sums up life in a nutshell; enjoy…

Life is one long Mystery

Life is one long mystery

A mystery we'll never solve

To solve would find our ending

And so our ending would dissolve

Dissolve into the cycle

A cycle we call life

Where a beginning meets an ending

... And an ending is reborn;

      Beautiful poem. A person will never know what will come out of this mysterious world. One should enjoy the beauty of earth.

      Oh yes, I saw that video and just had to add it. Trees hold a fascinating life that binds nature together. I always find walks through woods to be especially rewarding and mystical, and I always wonder what the tree has seen over its long years. The song does indeed accompany the poem beautifully and I am glad you liked it!

      How true is your poem! The first video The Memory of Trees gave me a message "too small to display" so I went to YouTube and found it there. What an appropriate addition to this poem. Loved it! Voted up and awesome!
