Darkness and Light

Updated on February 5, 2013

Darkness and Light

As we grow

we see things

What once was pure

is now dark and cold.

Kinda like my heart

and soul.

Perhaps it is just

pure evil that

has taken hold.

One can not deny

their inner thoughts

or feelings.

To see themselves

cut and bleed

and hope the scars

No one talks

about their

Only hope and

light, and new

Our lives take

many twists and turns.

As the years pass by

the bumps get bumpier.

The forks in the road

become more dense

And at times it seems

we have lost our sense.

Our sense of control,

what is right

and what is wrong.

Yeah, I might be

one messed up chick

but the bumps I

have hurdled are many.

With each and every one

a new lesson learned.

A very moving poem. The truth lies deep within each word.
