Life's Raw Deal: a Satirical Poem
We get our life for free, but then we have to pay for dying
and all in between are some hidden installments
since survival means a constant buying
unless we go suicidal to impose an annulment.
All kinds of smart asses tell us how to live
with their good intentions hard to tell apart
and whatever great we ever may achieve
is the result of someone else being smart.
Believe it or not, but we can't use our mind
the way we use our mouth, ass, and between
to call ourselves cool would be way too kind
for that option we don't have in our genes.
From parent to teacher to priest and at times a wife
everyone knows best and we just sheepishly follow
to them we owe everything including our naked life
since our own heads are a sort of hollow.
We only fancy to have a free will
for every step we make there was a coach
and that's why, my friends, life is a raw deal
but then again, we can always use a less mocking approach.
