Lightning: A Poem

Updated on February 13, 2014

You struck my heart like a lightning bolt,

Dangerous and unexpected,

A flash of light to brighten my darkened sky,

But that kind of love only lasts for a moment,

For if hope is a feather,

It must fall eventually,

But you made the journey worth my time,

Lightning comes and goes in bursts of passionate storms,

I never knew that something so beautiful would leave me burned on the ground.

      Monis Mas: Very true!

f: I don't believe true love is destructive. I believe that heartbreak can be found in the pursuit of it.

Interesting poem; do you really think that true love is destructive?
