Like Art on Mars

Updated on December 9, 2012

The red sun that owns me tonight
Is burning next to the moon
As I sit among money people
Drowning in their troubles
Mars is rising in Saturn's wake
As children of the night gossip
Turn their finely decorated
Tables upside downside
For their own boredom forsaken
Broken bottles and polished tiles
Lined up for miles in zig zagged isles
Making me think of inner conflicts
That drive human minds into ruin
Drag innocent souls into pits oblivious
Mars is the father of blood and war
But still it always makes me wonder
Is blood ever really enough
To sacrifice the hearts of good people
In return for a few hours borrowing time
There is no answer or message here
Just the influence of Mars in the air
As the feasting begins
We let the beasts in for another eve
As the children of the night bleed
On a canvas so ill concieved
Like art displayed for Martians

      How do I miss these?

"The red sun that owns me tonight

Is burning next to the moon...

...Just the influence of Mars in the air"

Of course these words are meant in an entirely different context than what I am taking way, but that's the beauty of poetry; I can climb into your head, and you never knew I was there, haha!

Actually I think I was eating a candy bar that night, A Mars Bar...just kidding. Blake4d

Oh, then it wasn't taken out of context, my mistake, haha! No really, this piece is quite intriguing, even if Mars had never sat next to me at this very restaurant.
