Like What You Do

Updated on November 2, 2016

Then That Like Can Turn Into Love

I am a firm believer

In living each day with pizzazz

Starting out with an informed opinion

Pushing for that pot of gold

Thanking God for another day

Thanking so many people I meet along the way

Thinking will this work

Is it possible ?

Is it practical ?

Am I the only person who thinks like this ?

At my current job I don't make bu co bucks

Actually I make less than most people

I didn't have a trade or expertise

I fell into a job I liked

Soon it grew on me

Like peat moss on the front of the house

Once it was no where to be seen

Then it is all over the place

I heard peat moss comes because the sun doesn't shine there enough

Maybe it's like my brain

Other jobs never appealed to me

So after all these years

I give myself myself a simple make over

I wasn't handy with my hands

Not great in math

I am not a good automobile driver

I wasn't moved by anything technical or mechanical

The sciences didn't interest me

I heard city and state workers take advantage and slack off when they can

They got the job as a favor and owe the favor back

I want to earn a living doing a job I am proud of

Politics and being in a position of power

Always telling people what they can and can not do

Not my cup of tea

Some people have a family business passed one generation to the next

Not in my family

I wasn't cut out to be a lawyer with all the legal jargon to confuse people

I prefer not to be on the computer all day

I was way too trusting to be a policeman or security guard

The military is important

Shooting at someone or being shot at is never a good day

Now that we got the nays out out of the way first

Lets see what is left

I am a people person

I love to encourage people to do their best

I love children and I think when they laugh the world laughs

I can work just as well independently as in a group

I have worked as a fast order cook for thirty three years

So you could say I am fascinated by the same daily routine

The people make the job different

They continue to amaze and frustrate me at the same time

You think after all these years each day would run like clock work

Smooth as a lovely layer of whipped cream on a bowl of fruit

It is just the opposite

Sometimes as rocky as a shore line

Other times as rough as the powerful, raging high tide during a violent storm

I don't get it

New workers come and go

Like fleas on a dog

They drive you mutts

Making the poor helpless dog scratch all day

Unless you add some flea powder and kill them dead

Well that's not a good solution

I thought of a better way

So they can get a jump on life

I can teach them a few life lessons

Take the advice I have learned over the years

Make it a magical moment

I know I would of loved the same chance

They don't care

They are bored

All they want to do is go on smoke breaks and leave early

They love to cut corners

Will leave you in a heart beat

After all this

You think maybe something will settle in

Just through osmossis

You showed them easier ways to do the same job

What has taken you years to master

They once again surprise you

They drop a bomb

Now they feel they are better than you

They ask a boss for a raise

I can do what he does and I deserve more

If you let them they will steam roller over you

What once was a secure job

Now they want to push you out and take over

So this is where you have to put your foot down

Stand your ground

Luckily their attention span is quicker than a lit match

Soon they get bored and move on

I still can't believe what I'm telling you

So now there is writing

Where you can share and someone will listen

You get good feedback from friends

Those who don't like you don't stick around

They are always looking for the big fish

You are only a gold fish

A dime a dozen

This is where experience comes in

They were too quick to judge and think of all the possibilities

How many people have gold in their names

Gold has been and always will be one of the most precious metals on earth

So I didn't have to fool you

You fooled yourself

Now I will tell you my secret

I am happy being who I am

Everytime the sun shines

I am my most powerful

Reflecting in every direction

I am dancing in the light

Gypsy Rose Lee I felt the breeze. Last week went that way. No it went that way. How could that be when I know the week before went that way. Let me think. I am not sure. I lived it and enjoyed so many good moments. Then I had a minor problems nothing to worry about. Well this week I will have to watch more closely. Having fun in each day bringing out our personal best makes me happy. Have a wonderful evening and thank you for commenting and sharing so many beautiful ideas and dreams.

Sometimes it is so hard to find something to like about a day or to really feel good but then I take a look online and find something to focus on or something that really inspires and then the pieces just sort of fall into place. This week I am way behind in everything so once I catch up I know I will feel so much better. You didn't happen to see last week dashing by, did you????

They may be covered for years and then one day you wonder how and when did that rock get there. How old could that rock be ? Chances are it's been around long before us and will be around long after where gone. Thanks for all the LOL. It makes each day more fun.

Jodah At the end of every day I know I did my best. I earned an honest pay. Money gets tight and as my farther use to say I have to tighten my belt buckle.I am always creating and dreaming of new ideas. Those ideas haven't developed as of yet. I am still hopeful I will met the right people to make it work. Thank you so much for reading and sharing.

Loving the job you do is perhaps one of the most important things in life. That and having a happy loving family. Great wealth is unimportant if you aren't content. We all need fast order cooks, which I am sure requires an amount of skills that many can't master. So well done, Dream On.
