Like a Phoenix: A Poem

Updated on February 14, 2012

Like a Phoenix will I rise again?
My heart is aching,
It's more than breaking,
Can I stand in this rain?

Falling, but out of love,
I need help from above,
Just when I feel like I'm giving in,
I feel His holy power fill my wings again,

Hope is not lost,
Long ago He paid the cost,
Though my heart is broken,
Words of grace He has spoken,

Like a Phoenix I rose again,
My heart was aching,
But no longer breaking,
He helped me to live through the pain.

A single word Phoenix tells so many things. I just loved this imagery in your poetry.
