Like the River Untamed

Updated on July 23, 2011

Like the river Untamed

Introduction

I bear my soul strapped on a silver platter shackled to the wall

Emptiness in my golden cage drifting with stormy emotions un-whole

And I, deprived from the sunlight broken beyond repair

For life cast the shadow of hatred darkness and despair

And so it was, endless heartbreak warfare

And life promised not a single breath to spare

Like an outdated violin too tampered to be played

My soul was shattered beyond time destined to fade

Rising Events:

Slipping from between your fingers like untamed water

We come to blows, yet my heart will no more waver

And now I know I have the right to break to the surface

Happy from the outside with scars residing beyond the surface

For you walk past me with my soul unable to catch up with your pace

And just like the mist you leave mere traces in my life

Only causing suffering for my soul, a life drenched in strife

So I don’t believe you when you deceive me saying you love me

So don’t pretend, for we are past this point, just set me free

Climax:

Fading steps printed and sealed away in the crystallized sand

Don’t expect to find my body warming yours at night, nor my hand

For I have made up my mind and I won’t back down

Though through streaming tears I will wipe away this frown

Falling Events:

Say goodbye to that fragile girl you have kept all this time imprisoned

With empty promises which broke her soul and had it all poisoned

For I am no more that girl, too scared to be alone

With her shadow as her only friend, all on her own

For I am not her, NOT anymore

And my pain will no more hurt nor swore

For I am not scarred to pick up my shatters and move on

Cause I am free, never been yours to own

Resolution:

Just like the river innocent sterilizing and life bringing

Baby nobody will shackle my soul for I am breaking

Breaking out of the golden sorrowful cage you set me in

Like the powerful untamed river to the past unwilling to cling

Its purity reflected in its inner power untamed and fast

So powerful, washing away the poisoning shadow you cast

My body ain’t yours, ain’t made of fragile flesh and bones

But know that even the calmest of rivers will drown the meddling stones

So watch me pry off my soul from yours happily and willingly

Strong with the heart opening wind, breathing powerfully

Like the river untamed

Hope was what I was named

Ryancb4928: First of all i do appreciate your kind words, and stopping by to check out this hub.The poem took about 15 minutes so i as well find the rhyming a bit off . But i decided to leave it as it is thinking that by doing so it would be UNtouched and simply ITSELF if you know what i mean:D As always, thank you for stopping by and i will make sure to return the visit as soon as possible :D:D

      Best regards

Nikki :D as always thank you for stopping by. i tried getting out of the depressing zone i was grappling with lately and so the poem was the spawn of that moment and feeling :D:D Glad you liked it :D:D

a river and a girl named Hope. Like the river flows so do you, just keep going, breaking through anything that stands in your way, never once faltering. Good Poem!

I personally deal with more rhyme, but I can still appreciate the vivid pictures you paint. The flow is still there with an image to the reader. I like how you take the reader on a voyage of a lot of different feeling. Should check some of my work out. Ill follow up on some of your other work.
