Lillian's Garden

In Lillian's sun-dappled yard,

Wild flowers drift across the lawns,

Lakes of Monet blue.

A brocade:

Pools of pink and white,

English daisy weaves

through the green.

Borders of frothy blue forget me not

between,

Black wings whisper where we walk.

Hi Nellieanna, thank you, good to see you! Lillian is an old friend who I do gardening for. It's such a pleasant place to be, and where I've been spending a lot of time lately. :)

Well you got me with two names: Monet and Snakeslane! I have missed you my friend and I myself was away from the Hub for awhile because of serious mental and physical health issues. It is currently 3;44am and I woke up again after falling asleep late last night and it is a clear bright sky over the lake - I can see the lights from the U.S. from the other side and both cats Tiffy and Gabriel took the opportunity to go outside and check out their deck.

I hope sincerely all is well with you these days and that you got over your computer woes. Are you receiving summer weather now?

Epi, Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear the troubles you are having, not fair! I'm hoping you can take some time off work, get some rest, and get better. Good to hear from you, and the cats. I'm still hitching a ride on my neighbour's WiFi. Working (gardening season in full swing) and started a new job. No rest for the wicked!

Very lovely! I said, as I strolled through the lilac that lined the cobble stoned walkway into Ms. Lillian's back yard garden. My steaming pot of coffee and tray of extra cups, daintily adorned with a jar of cream and sugar. Morning coffee with Lillian and Snakes lane was to be a delight the mornin'. We all fixed a cup and took each a sip. Taking in all the time the backsplash of the lake and the pools of vivid color that surrounded one half of the garden so brilliantly. English ivy twisting tantalizingly around stems of each flower. Discussing each, as if a treasured heirloom of times past and present. We all look at one another as the laughter passes, and the black butterfly makes his way to the table and rests upon the tea pot lid.

Lol .. I love your poem!, It gave me visions of my own, and a delightful story that I engulfed all of my senses with! Thank you for a beautiful journey!! I voted thumbs up and all the way across the board, of course! Have a wonderful day my friend! :) Lots of Hugs , Jami

I am busy trying to get my yard in shape. Just got a lawn mower and the grass was higher than my knees. Finally got it all mowed down and now one more day and I will have it all one length. It took me a week to get it all mowed, LOL. Too many years of an apartment and all of my yard stuff had been sold. I got some tomatoes and some herbs planted in pots and flowers planted in the one flower bed. The herbs and tomatoes are on the patio, right by the back door so they will be easily accessible. I am really enjoying having a yard again.

Becky, Wow! I hope that lawn mower is self-propelled...please tell me it is. Good to hear you have a yard again, and a garden. I'm all over the place, can't keep up. The weather's been so amazing. I can't count the number of plants and flowers in bloom. It's crazy! Love it.
