Morning Star

A bright and morning star,

We climb the high clear mountain, we love to look afar.

We cast our eyes upward in the bright moonlight,

reflecting beauty my star, burning bright.

We know not yet where this journey leads, but destiny leads us on,

to keep searching within, without, through the colors of worlds just beyond.

we pause in thanksgiving, that we stopped here today

to ponder in your heavenly fragrance

in this our particular way.

we set out for the day, to discover mossy trees

To thank the sunshine, blue sky, and cold breeze,

life, it is worth living, if we do as we please.

We are a Lily of the Valley, oh how right you are,

the fragrance of your beauty I can’t capture in a jar

go little firefly, burn bright, illuminate my sight.

Lily of the Valley

Reach for the sky, come, ask me why.

One lily growing on the mountain way up high.

Where do you think you are going? asked a passerby.

Up to share the sun, so I can grow tall.

Up to find the hummingbirds that go away in fall.

Up to grow in a million colors, we are not too small.

We are lilies in a valley, heading for a mountain top

we are lilies in your garden, don't ask us to stop

we share our yellow gold nectar with the moon drop.

Star Lillies

So is that how you got your name

oh precious flower?

We like to think so,

we like to imagine, the star so far away we really can't see,

decided to find a way closer to our reality.

Gazing into the lilly, we can see the reflection there

Twinkling up from the flower, when we breathe the fragrance in

Bringing that star down closer, so we can look at the sparkling power.

Thank you very much Dee. I had a song running through my head when I wrote it. Maybe the same one, I agree about the inspiration button. LOL!

Absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of a song we sang in church when we were children. My sister would play the piano and I would sing along with her. Brought back a flood of memories. Thank you. Voted up and inspirational. Oh, I forget, hubpages doesn't have an inspiration button.... well they should.

Wow. Thank you so much for this wonderful reply. Sitting outside while I write, must have something to do with it.

A flower and its magical fragrance is powerful motivation in this beautiful, uplifting poem. Lead on Lily of the Valley, for I shall follow your illuminated way also.

Inspiring, lovely to read words. My votes, best wishes and sharing for you Ruby!

Well that brought a lovely smile to my face. I saw your name pop up for a new hub and had to immediately read it before dinner. Great job my friend!
