Woebegone Be Gone

Updated on November 18, 2015

Taking life lying down, can be restful or wasteful.

Woebegone Be Gone

"Woe is me" they say,

But not for me, no! No way/

For me, gray or sun,

Life's got to be fun.

I'll make it turn out my way!

Some mope like a dope.

Deprived of all hope.

Dark blinders cover their eyes.

Not one, two, or three their tries

They're stuck on that downward slope.

Rise up with the sun.

Make life full of fun.

Be wacky, mysterious, secretive.

Be anything, don't just live.

The day's beginning not done!

When the sun's going down,

you'll be rid of that frown.

Chalk up a day that was grand,

with smiles from leading a band,,

turning other's frowns upside down.

Don't like shaving? Then don't shave!

Giving the razor a holiday.
Giving the razor a holiday. | Source

Dear savvydating - Thanks for the good wishes. I can easily believe that your plate (figurative and real) was full yesterday. May the things you are so clearly thankful for be an even longer list on Thanksgiving 2016, and may your musings and shared moments on HP be even more satisfying to you.

Yep. It's all about attitude and appreciating what we have as well as our freedom to make our own choices. I hope you and yours have enjoyed this lovely Thanksgiving Day. I know I did, but I ate hours ago and I am still so full! Ha! Anyway, thank you for reminding us to choose life and all the joy that lies therein, dear Demas.

Enjoyed your poem. That is what I like about working from home on the PC. I write when I want and whenever inspiration strikes me.

MizBejabbers - Friday is here again! Noon to Midnight is as many good hours as most conventional people can find productive in their days. Once you have found your most productive hours, use them, don't fight it. Be yourself. After all, you weren't meant to be anyone else.

Nothing wakes me up until noon because I'm a night person. I do my best work in the afternoons. It is a fun poem, Demas.

Dana Tate - Laziness doesn't make you a "bum," but not acting to end the laziness certainly can have that result. I'm glad this inspired a more active and alert day of fun ahead.

I was tired and sleepy til I read this hub. It made me say to myself " Wake up you lazy bum and get your day started!"

DDE - Thanks for dropping in. Is there still time for you to do a Hub on a glorious walk of yours? I imagine you can find glory in every season.

I made the video "Public" but I don't know whether it got the automatic upgrade, or stays as it was first because I can see Public and Private. Maybe the next viewer will answer for me?

FlourishAnyway and Jodah _ glad you liked it, but I will have to change the YouTube to Public, I guess. My first video on HP and only I can see it! Not cool.

Love this limerick poem. I too have given the razor a break for a few weeks..shaving isn't my favourite chore. Oh, I can't view the video at the end..it says "private".

Great little poem. I love that photo of the sleeping girlon the bench. Your sentiment about giving the razor a break is a good one too. We just need to be useful rather than lazy.
