Lines read between

Updated on January 20, 2012

I'm standing outside all alone tonight
my thoughts are abstract yet clear
There is winters moon to give me light
only myself to recall all of the years

Take my hand and you'll walk with me
through my eyes I will let you look
at a man's life that could have easily
passed as a series of sad fiction books

The story begins in his younger years
filled with love, pain and smiles and joy
secrets kept hidden quietly behind tears
words unspoken that have molded this boy

Teen years filled with work, love and play
his heart was already the ruler of his soul
his need to give and do anything they say
created a heart that would never be whole

Finding a love more precious than gold
the gift of forever he held tight in his hand
He tarnished it all and his forever he sold
his life never again would be his to command

A first sin committed against his true love
without knowing, his mind already besieged
feeling he'd never be forgiven by heaven above
he took love knowing one day he would leave

Tears he has cried for the hearts he has wronged
does little to comfort the souls he left still crying
never meaning to hurt, all his life he has longed
to find peace the he's not found but is still trying

A good man at heart, only wanting to please
never knowing true contentment deep inside
blessed with more love than a man should be
though he smiles none see the tears daily cried

Living this life daily the best way that I can
wanting only the chance to know true peace
Alone in the dark, in the cold night he stands
demons echoing his wrongs will never cease

Thank you for reading this hub, Becky.I know your words are true but I find that forgiving others is much easier than forgiving ourselves. Something I need to work on, for sure. Agan, I thank you for always reading my words.

I know she forgave you. She was too generous a soul not to. And if she and Jesus can forgive you, you need to forgive yourself. That is the only way that you will find true happiness again. It is time to forgive now.

thank you Rosemay for reading this hub. I also thank you for your kind words and will ponder them in my heart. 6 years in March and still... life goes on wether you want it too or not. Thank you again. I appreciate your time.

It is time to forgive yourself, regretting the past is not doing anyone any good, it only hurts you. It cannot be changed. Only when you have forgiven yourself can you move forward to a future with hope.

I am sure she forgave you on passing through those gates to heaven, she knows you're sorry.

Peace will come and with it new beginnings.

What has past should be past, yet... each day it is alive and real. Does forgiveness come only when one forgives themself? The worst sin, to betray the trust of one you call your love, leaves a door that if not close directly, never closes. She went to heaven before I could say I am sorry. And now, I search for that same love, for one who will love me so the past is in fact... past.

This is something that everyone that has loved deeply and lost has felt , will feel and Is feeling. Poignant and deep . I can almost hear the beating of your heart on the wind as the clouds float passed the moon and each tiny branch sways on every breath of love and life you breathe .Though unbeknownst to many that you cannot forsake what has already been taken ,although in merciless pieces like clay as putty in the quick sand of what we know as life.... Love as Always ,

      Jami
