Listen to what I say

Updated on April 28, 2011

I’ve cried and I’ve pleaded

I’ve begged and I’ve yelled

I’ve tried to be nice

I’ve tried to understand

Yet everything I say seems to fall on deaf ears!

What I say means nothing

You continue to ignore

Everything I say heads straight out the door

I’ve changed my thoughts

I’ve tried to see your ways

I’ve listened and I’ve taken notes

Yet we still don’t see eye to eye

It doesn’t matter what I say

It goes unnoticed anyway

It is a simple thing I ask of you

It isn’t even that big of a feat

Can you please, just once, put down that damn toilet seat!

@Myth - I am really glad it worked out that way too! See - sometimes it is a positive when your significant other ticks you off! LOL ;)

That is so funny how something that was making you so mad turned into something so fun! At least you managed to make it work for you and turned the situation around :-)

I love this one too! ha ha - I remember when I wrote this I was actually pretty angry at Eli at the time and then I realized... hey - I don't want to bring out my relationship spats - so it just turned... and it is probably one of my best ones! LOL

@sarmack - It is always when you are drowsy when the suprise hits... and then you are suddenly really awake... LOL

@PDXKaraokeGuy - you bring up a good point... but I have to agree with sarmack - that has to be a suprise for the lady of the house when she is sleepy in the middle of the night... lol

The loss of the seat must be quite an experience for the lady in your life in the middle of the night, PDXKaraokeGuy!!!

Glad you took the bait. I believe it has caught almost everybody off guard. My mom was reading it and she was wondering what was going on? Why is she so said. She said when she got to the end, all she could do was shake her head... lol

I could have used your lawyer friends years ago... since then I have learned to stop speeding. Now I drive like a granny. In fact, the other day I was driving with my MIL and she said, "Wow, so this is what it feels like to go speed limit!" Ha ha - I thought that was what we were soppossed to drive! LOL

I love a little zinger right at the end - it's entertaining - therefore my time was spent well:-). If some one sue's you - I can help. I have a lots of lawyer friends up here! I make sure I get their work done first so they will be there when I need them. Works for me - I got my very first ever ticket last year - blocking an intersection getting caught in the shopping traffic! I swear - I had never had a ticket in my life either!

Actually it started off serious... I think I wrote this because I was made at my husband. Then... I realized that posting something mad really isn't going to do anything so I made it funny. I like it much better this way. :)

Well, due to the bacteria that.... um... goes in the toilet and is spread into the air when flushed, the toilet seat should never be left up. Can you imagine all those sh*t particles landing on your toothbrush. NASTY ;)

Haha, this was tugging at my heart at first, then I was LOL at the end. I totally hear you, as I didn't grow up with guys leaving toilet seats up, mostly girls were around. Now, I am one of four, and the only female, so you can imagine! That said, I have pretty awesome family that is respectful, even in this way. As for What is Q, above, now that is awesome that he does that without women in the house! Enjoyed the read.

Ah, you got me. :P A kind of surprise ending. Now I understand women's frustration with this issue. But I always put the toilet seat down, even though there's no woman in the house. :( That doesn't mean I go sitting down, it just means I was raised right. Now comes the hard decision as to what to vote this... funny, awesome, or beautiful. Aha, useful, that's what it is.
