Listening Carefully

Updated on August 31, 2013

Hidden in the shadows
of the autumn branches
staring into the dimly lit forest
the quietness of the mind
reveals the familiar sounds.

Birds chirping away chattering
in their high pitched voices
while the wood peckers hammer
away at the wooden flesh of
an old tree.

Rippling affects of water running
down stream carrying the light
weight of fallen leaves.
Carrying what ever debris
it has captured along the way
swerving around any obstacle
that presents itself.

Every rock trying to hold back
the current of the river
feeling the water press harshly
against its hard exterior.

Crickets chirping in the distant
hiding behind the leafy bush
off somewhere every one is hiding
protected by natures tender
loving care.

Listening carefully her amber
fairy lips stay silent
observing and watching
everything be as it is
without interfering.
