Little Miss Somewhat Invisible

Creative Writing Piece

For My Creative Writing Teacher: Mrs. Wanda Sue Heaton

This is a paragraph telling all about me written in a way that is different from the... My name is Silverfoxygirl. I like blue. I love Jello and puppies... type thing. It is short, but I hope you know a little bit more about me at the end of your read. :) Enjoy.

Now that we’ve heard from the notable Jack and Sally’s of the class, let’s take a little look at the life of miss somewhat invisible. Although she tends to blend discreetly into the myriad of her school days, she survives without all the popularity. Without the fame. Most only take a glance at the soul before them and utterly miss the shining individual she is, along with all her potential. They don’t see that she loves to read, play and listen to music, eat Oreo cookies, or decipher riddles. Their eyes don’t see the random yet likeable person underneath her quiet façade. Is it possible they caught a twinkle of the ardent, competitive fighter she is? Perhaps in their tiny peek they glimpsed a ditzy klutz of a girl who loves to laugh. Maybe they looked upon her and found the late little rambunctious being within. Did they see her dramatic and absolute character? Or how about the impatient loner she’d hidden away from the world? Are they positive they saw the opening up of an artsy, original girl? Should they have done a double take to see her amiability as well as her oddness shine through? Perhaps. But they would have had to take that second glance to be sure.

Hi silverfoxygirl... Just stumbled upon this and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed that paragraph. You're quite right that it's written much differently than how a typical person would introduce herself. Great work.

You will be an excellent teacher! I wish you all the luck and success in the world because they need to be noticed as much as everyone else!

PS: you may be a very old lady by the time I finish my serial, but I appreciate your support :). Both of you are so amazing, it's unreal.

Doing the impossible! That reminds me, when I was reading this I had a thought: I want to be that teacher who notices the shy girls and introverted boys in my classroom and makes them feel welcome and special and important. That's my goal for this year. That, and of course, surviving, since it is my first year of teaching. :-)

PS: Kalto is right, I will always comment!

I don't know why some people just CHOOSE not to comment, Allora. It's so annoying to me and can even be a little discouraging... but don't get discouraged. I'll always comment (and so will AC - if I may speak on her behalf). ;-)

I thought this was an awesome piece for your assignment.

      AC,

I think everyone feels like this at least once in their lives. Some more than others like ourselves...Sad the way some people disappear the way they do.

The teacher told us to get creative... and that's what I came up with. :) Thanks for commenting! sometimes I wonder how many people read and like it and just don't comment or how many just don't like it at all. Which makes you even more special because you did the 'impossible' and commented. :) Thanks for everything!

      SilveryFoxy,

Would it sound weird if I told you that I totally understand what you mean? Growing up, I was the same way, faded into the background at school, introverted because I was too afraid to be myself, often overlooked because of that....

Anyway, I like the way you introduced yourself. Very unique!

Haha It was only supposed to make my creative writing teacher happy... but hey I guess it could be a story! :D Thanks for the comment! You're the best, as always!

This was so perfectly written. Brava! I love it. I feel like it can be the opening paragraph of a great story. You can keep it non-fiction or make it fiction. Great job Allora. And I know just how you feel. ;)
