LittleThings Make It All Work

Updated on October 30, 2013

Each Slice Makes Up the Pie

When times get busy the busy get moving

My wife is out of the house in a flash

I am having trouble opening my eyes

As I clasp my pillow for dear life and roll on back to my last dream

Then my cat gives me a little hint

With a nip on my fingers and a nudge

I am up

I proclaim in my loudest voice

Charlotte still doesn't believe me as she nips me again

I stagger into the kitchen like a drunk leaving the saloon in the old West

Luckily there was no one coming or we both would of clashed heads

There are times like this that I am left in the dust

Where my wife strongest points fill in the gaps where I am at my weakest

Soon she comes back home with food shopping in the car

I quickly do my part bringing in all the groceries and help putting them all away

It is not long before she starts lunch and a short time later we are eating

I was in the middle of a story and out of time I have to put this one aside

Going out together and doing some more errands

So thankful that we are a team

I help in other ways and after the end of the week

It all has a way of balancing out

To all those who work hand and hand to make each day possible

You are not forgotten and appreciated more and more

I am happy to ask for a hand and I am willing to give two

To make our day worthwhile and a little comical

I am here beside, behind or underneath you

Michael -Milec The amazing part is when it is all happening you don't know where it is going to end up. Then some how some way when it is all over you can say we did it again honey. It is so nice to see your refreshing comment. Thank you again.

      Hi Michael .

Ambience of your poem filled with unspoken word, accomplishing enjoyable task, looking at each other with smile - is true love manifestation , without unnecessary repeating ' I love you'.

      Up and beautiful

      Have good night.

Annart I know I could of never accomplished half what I have done over the years without the help of so many friends and family. Sparklea There is so much to be said for teamwork. My father and mother instilled in my mind growing up how important it is to work together and get things done. Then we can all rest and be proud what we have finished. Sharing stories of a great husband and wife team makes both my wife and I smile. Enjoying the special connection that know one can ever separate. DDE Without the little things the big things would not be possible. I love to thank all you for your wonderful comments and wishing you a wonderful day.

The little things often work best very good to appreciate the little things as well.

Voted up and useful...sounds like a Saturday with my husband and myself - and we have cats too who assist in getting us out of bed. The greatest teamwork between my husband and I is on Thanksgiving and Christmas when we work hand in hand together in the kitchen with our joyful family all around. You and your wife sound like two peas in a pod. Thank you for this delightful, enlightening hub. Blessings, Sparklea :)

Amusing and so true that we can each do a little to help day-to-day, even if it is a little chaotic! I like the cat's contribution! Up, funny & interesting. Ann
