Living and Dreaming

Updated on June 14, 2017

Are we all just to be existing

Or in a reality, one big dream

Everything we see and to do

Not factual, though it to seem

In the dark of night are seen

A moon and stars all so keen

As the dawning sun also rises

The morning air is so pristine

Does each feeling then to count

Are they all authentic responses

What we may do to be so wrong

Falling prey to our consciences

When we each act accordingly

Doing the very best that we can

Is there justified reward earned

Now this we all try to understand

Might there be a clear and present danger

This for us everyone so rightly as perceived

Or could it just to be one, a believable hoax

Deliberately planted and us each to deceive

Must we always walk the straight and narrow

In our every undertaking, in what we all so do

Does it really seem that this does matter a bit

By our own determination, our answers on cue

Does our birth, living and enduring entire lives

Then in all finality to perish, a simple meaning

Or might it all imagined, a figment in our minds

Perhaps presumptions, and on fantasy leaning

When we do fall down, why does it hurt so much

If all just a dream, why's there feeling in a touch

What's the reassurance behind heaven and earth

Is there to be truth all creations are of much worth

Must we each just wait to see and to talk to our God

Our maker, the creator of living things from the sod

All answers to be the same, not waiting till we perish

On chance, place no blame, his worship now cherish

Life is real, as so any dream, both are factual, do exist

All being, never a question, though our thoughts persist

One a servant, product of the other, of this all may agree

Dreams, blessings disguised, helping our souls to be free.

Whonu, you became a philosopher in this poem. It does take time and thought to figure out the answers, and your conclusion helps.

This is a very thought provoking poem about the mysteries and nature of life. I love poems that make me think. The photos are lovely, too.

Such a beautiful poem and beautiful pictures. I haven't written my poems in a long time, writers block I guess. I really enjoyed reading this and look forward to more.
