Logging on to Love. A Sonnet

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

The inner software of Light, upgraded the Disc of my Heart,

Thus opening the Windows of my Soul.

Out came a pure and swift Gigabyte of magnificence,

And the old virus-laden frame once steeped in Trojans,

Now completely disappeared.

Light, more Light, this powerful inventory of a USB,

Uploads my stolen inner peace with Delight,

Bards Gates and Apple, augments my soaring to a higher Cloud.

No more malware, spam, and frozen smiles,

The old inner slate has been deleted from the hardrive....

My mind’s new Desktop presentations, are immaculate and supreme!

I almost died with the woes and distress of ‘hate-crashes,’

But now I fly with the Laptop, of a visionary tomorrow.

      Hi Stephanie.

I am a poet and used to call myself the Bard of Solace. Now I'm the Lantern Carrier. I try to reach the Heart; to awaken, to inspire, to touch the inner Light. While you would not necessarily think so, 90% of my poems are addressed to God or God in man.

Great to see you once again and happy that you're here. Thanks a lot and pleased that this poem inspires you. Much peace.

I have to say I love seeing the word "bard" used so wittily. It took me back to when I was a high school English teacher. It's been a long time since I saw someone use the word "bard."

Mary, I forgot the hardrive bit. Was on my mind then ...getting old. Glad you identify. So kind. Much love.

Billybuc, hey, thanks Bro. Playing and teasing around and look what I came up with! Actually, it's my second time. Did the first one a few years ago. A pleasant Sunday to you and Bev.

Frida, thank you. I appreciate this. Say hello to my son when you see him in Maryland. Tall, tanned, handsome and very much like his Father.

I appreciate your contribution, Frida. Much peace.

What better metaphor in this technology-crazed society? Who can't relate the hardrive of their life with that of a computer? I think this is very well done and totally topical.
