Lone Woman

Updated on February 21, 2017

Dancing in tube socks
in refrigerator light
illuminates purple bruises
and crumbles of cookies.

Clicking of heels
on paved sidewalks
on early Monday mornings
with buildings standing tall.

Long legs hanging
out of bubbly baths
fingers gripping
a tall glass of wine.

One lone figure
in a bed too large
wrapped in blankets
of warmth.

A lone woman
living on her own.

Where there should be a frown
there was a smile.
