Long Journey

Updated on July 23, 2017

keep the tears at bay, heave a sigh
i have said a different kind of goodbye
finding comforting sounds out of
everything which seems to be different
loud honks of cars, scars of windows, and cries of widows
then, maybe, the peculiar conversations with the air
will blare and dare the unforgotten memories of
being home, but then again, i am alone

on a bus which is loathed by every student,
on a vehicle on the movement away from my family
then lock my eyes on a bird that flee
who's finding a place to be free
and the tears slowly escape,
i heave a sigh just to be brave

smile flashes on the faces of the people i don't know
then there's the shades of the trees that has long existed that will soon fade
and the normalcy of everything just makes me wish i was home
unfinished structures that are born for the past to be forgotten

and the lights from the transports that go forth with
sad students sewing scribbled sentiments of the sometime,
just to settle and be free
and here i am depending on the neon blue of technology
rather than the radiant afterglow of the beaming sun
in order for me to write, without contrite, this story

a lot may happen
maybe i'll be a different person by then
and the loneliness will be gone and when
the sweet probability of knowing a stranger
i first lend my eyes unto i'll dive right in
and my temper will not be as spleen
a lot might probably happen, that's what i mean

and my company in this long journey
is the color of the shade of my skin
i am bleeding hue of the old witty tree;
my paper and pen
though the afternoon is monochromatic,
dull, monotonous, repetitive
it wakes an energy inside of me

surroundings are of canvas
and here i am, its painter with the
smitten words as my pallet of paints
ready to dirty the saints with my sinful thoughts
and to change the image of the perfect world

and here I am for I am called
and this long journey be told

Your journey is one that we all have to make. By putting our energy into the subjects at hand and focusing on being successful we all may overcome anxiety and worry. Keep up the good fight and be strong my friend. You will succeed and look back on your times of feeling down and laugh. Blessings. whonu

A lot of emotion shared in this poem. I really enjoyed the flow of these verses. Great work. I look forward to reading more of your works.
