Look In My Eyes

Updated on June 12, 2017

See All There Is To See

The Joy that every Spring brings

The mountains where sound echo's

Soft noises of every bug that walks and talks

Here we stand and sit together

Watching every breath taken

Where life on earth starts

Family and friends gather

Looking for God's blessing

Each day after

We live or die

Beyond our control

Even though we act as if we hold all the cards

There is no better feeling

We all got dressed in our fanciest clothes

To witness a love so bold

For much of the time we listen and remain quiet

Only a baby has a right to shout out

The priest carries on

As if he knows something we don't

Life plays a song out of tune and off key

We learn to make it

What ever needs to be done

We find a way

The night will come when the sunshine leaves

Beautiful crickets sound at 2:01 in the morning

All the new born babies finally go fast a sleep

Wonderful springtime thoughts. Most everything here is finally in bloom and even Sid takes the time out in the garden to stop and take a good look around at everything blooming everywhere.

Great structure and great detail in this poem. I really enjoyed it. Good description about spring and how on a deeper level explanations of living life. What we have control of and what we do not have control of are very important to realize about life.

BillyBuc When we can appreciate all the babies being born every day we can begin to understand how blessed we are for our own birth. Thank you for swinging by and leaving a sweet comment to add to my day.

Jodah As much as we work, eat, do each of our activities during the day and finally sleep the day light and night time play a major role in everyone's life. Nature continues without our Approval. It is wonderful when new born babies sleep through the night. Thank you for taking the time to comment and to share.

Three Keys My nephew got baptized yesterday and I was still experiencing the uniqueness of the moment many hours later. As people we teach and guide our children through life. It is true we are always learning even though we know how to do so many things. Thank you for reading and sharing.

I enjoyed your tranquil poem. For some reason the line about how "we are supposed to hold all the cards to life". I don't know about you Dream On but I am still trying to figure things out! I know when we reach adult age we are thought of as people who can make things happen. Just not so...for most of us...me thinks.

      Thank you.

Sweet, charming and indeed quite lovely poetry! I particularly like this piece:

      "Each day after

      We live or die

      Beyond our control." -Dream On

You are putting the words together well. Continue ...
