Looking For A Way Out

Updated on January 1, 2015

Nervous I Start Again

It has been heartbreaking

To try something year after year and fail

This could of been...

Should of been...

But wasn't

Is it fate ?

That beckons me to try again

Then again is it the same fate that holds me back

Like a dog on a leash

Ready to bark and stand my ground

Against another dog who is overstepped his bounds

I see a world that I want

So positive and filled with an endless number of chocolates

Piled on top of each other

Ready to melt in the hot sun

Quick thinking and immediate action has to be taken

To reach my true potential

Working hard with confidence and drive

To go anywhere you want

I make no excuses

I keep looking forward to building on what I have

I use to spend many hours chatting

Talking about all that I see and want

Watching others smirk and show little interest or concern

Each time finding myself digging in the sand

Trying to explain how different it is

Amazing and unique

Like fresh fruit teasing and so close to pleasing

Instead I deal with more resistance and lack of support

The closest friends I thought I knew aren't friends at all

Just people who I have met

Who follow their own agenda

So I dive deeper Into the unknown

Finding other writers with so much talent

Each exploring their world

I find strength in competition

Not to win or to be better than anyone else

Only to strive for our own voice

To show up with our skills

So we can become stronger

Where the fun is just beginning

Flying on a cloud nine

With only one purpose in mind

To express my thoughts through words

As I read the newspapers

I listen and write more

I see how precious life is

As many stars I looked up to over the years

Reached the end of their careers

Their end cut short

I think save yourself from the long struggle

Then I know I can't

I am thrust into a world

That I want and need

Even though I bleed

Not of blood

Something greater

That comes from my brain

Words of pain and anguish

I climb above clinging on to anything that will hold my weight

So I can reach up without seeing

For an opening

That is so brilliant

That takes my breath away

Where I am left to write with all my spirit

For life is always exactly the way it is suppose to be

There are no exceptions

Just the power to see

To appreciate and respect

All my decisions in the past, present and future

Come look

Do you see the awesome view ?

One that has value and can't be measured by any means known to man

Great poem about the freedom and joy of writing. All the 'should have's and 'could have's don't matter when you can do what you want within writing; so true!

I very much enjoyed reading this.

Jodah I am so thankful for all I have why do I crave more? Why can't I just live today not thinking of anyone or anything else. So many people do it without thinking, I love to dream and when you dream you open up any or all opportunities in the world. There is so much love and excitement. When I read your comments all I want to do is read and write more. You have shared your thoughts on so many of my hubs I don't know how to show my appreciation. So I write in an effort to explain more. I am filled with gratitude like a hot chocolate topped off with whip cream right to the brim. Now I can appreciate looking at it. Like a picture of beauty. I rather drink it and enjoy every last sip.Thank you for your wonderful praise. A new year and so many great things waiting to be discovered. Wishing everyone good health so we may enjoy the splendid life we have and share it everyone who will listen. Wishing you a powerful and productive day that makes you happy and desire more.
