Robertatalloni means creativity. Whether in writing or in more typical art forms, artistry (and a bit of fun) must be part of the work.

I hope that when you are old enough to read this you will know that we love you always!

I am very much looking forward to the day when I will be with you again!

We love you dearly Sweetheart!

OXOXO from Grandmama

Precious baby girl

You are like a flower painted

With a cute wrinkled nose.

Eyes wide open in

Wonder, your beaming rosebud

Lips grin sunny hellos,

Sharing happiness,

Your smiles convey greetings shy,

Your whisps wear pretty bows.

Gentle baby hands

Fluttering “Hello” and “Goodbye,”

Or probing dainty toes,

In a soft, quiet

Tender breeze blowing feath'ry hair,

Giggling sugar, you glow.

I spoke love from your

Birth, then I held you with care--

I will never let go.

Always, you’ll be cherished,

Always, you'll be ever dear to my heart,

Always, I'll be your Grandmama.

CW, Grandmama loves you very much!

Your poem was written in the early days of your babyhood, but now you are such a lively, delightful tiny girl. Seeing what a sweet heart you have, knowing that your strong personality can be used with great effect, I continue to pray for you as your days unfold.

As you learn and grow I pray for you as I do all my other grandchildren, asking God to make His presence known to you, asking Him to give you good understanding of His loving Word to you, and asking Him to help you love Him and enter into the relationship He wants to have with you through His Son, Jesus the Christ.

In your childhood and adulthood, may God grant you the faith and understanding that will help you run in the way of His Word so your path will be radiant and sure. I ask Him to help you grasp the fullness of His love for you so that He is your purpose in life.

As the chapters of the book of your life are written I pray that you will turn to Him with your whole heart, withholding nothing because He has given you realization that time and eternity hold hands. May your journey be filled with His goodness because you have looked to His means.

On your behalf I pray that self-dependence would be dealt an early and decisive blow at an early age. I ask that God would help you understand the safety and joy and comfort of full dependence on Him. May your knowledge and wisdom be from on high, and not of your own design, so that you are nestled securely in His will throughout all of your days. May your love for Him grow through experience with Him as you carefully look to Him for all things.

The Lord bless you, dear CW, with a growing knowledge of His word that comes from a joy-filled relationship with Him so that your life is a reflection of His great love toward those who trust Him. May you walk in constant awareness that His people have access His throne of grace at any time. May His great grace be the strength of the warp and weave in the tapestry of your precious life as a child of the King.

A look at the Word Cherish

Word lovers are often poets, using multiple and even hidden meanings of words in their work. Pondering various word meanings helps me take poems closer to where I want to go with them. The word cherish gave me plenty of food for thought in this post for my second granddaughter, CW.

Holding something (someone) dear is a rather obvious usage in the context of this hub, but keeping the definition of hopeful ambition in mind cannot be denied. The different levels of cherish that I have in mind for this post span both space and time.

The concept of nurturing is included in cherish's definition, see, and being cared for tenderly is my desire for my granddaughter, certainly, yet with wisdom. French definitions of English cherish includes dorioter, which is definitely not wisdom in this context.

However, their chérir indicates the concepts of treasure, sustain, and harbor all of which I desire for this and my other grandchildren. Studying out different concepts about the word cherish from various other cultures enables me to pray more fully for these little ones. That would make adding the word studies to these posts meaningful enough even if I were not a word lover!

Happy Birthday, Little Bird!

ktrapp, I'm so glad you were able to have your grandparents in your life--that they wanted to be in your life! It was a precious relationship, I'm sure. Your words are full of meaning... I think partly because no one can love grandchildren like grandparents can. That's not always the case, but when there is that kind of relationship, it's irreplaceable. Thank you so much for sharing your insight here!

I have to say kids that have their grandparents nearby in their lives are very lucky. I lived near my grandparents and cherished my time with them. I loved once I got my license because then I could just stop by and talk to them for a little bit. I knew even then it meant a lot to them, but I got a lot from out of it too. Unfortunately my kids do not have any nearby grandparents and I know so many instances where it could have made a difference for them.

      Thank you, Ktrapp.

Grandparenting was not something I had in my life, but something that I have come to understand the importance of and that I want to cherish.

Appreciate very much that you stopped in with your kind comments.
