Lost Within My Dreams

Updated on June 9, 2017

World of Dreams

Come with me, into my dreams

I swear we won't have to leave

Reality has taken it's toll

Close those eyes in whole

In here in my dreams

Nothing is what it seems

We can fly high like birds and see

A new world not restricted with gravity

Here we don't have the morning commute

No alarm sounds, we will put that on mute

We have a chance to become a hero

We can swim in waters where temperature is below zero

Expand The Fictional Universe

We don't have to stay here, we could go to Mars

We can live a different life among the stars

Maybe check Jupiter or even the rings of Saturn

Go deep into space to the point of no return

We may discover another world like this one

Then again, would our dreams be as fun?

We will have to try and stretch the imagination

Let our dreams take us to a different location

The Journey's End

In my dreams there is no structure of time

We don't have to age or even die

We could see it all, the way we would want it to be

See world peace, end of war, and victims of tragedy

I wish the power of my dreams were real

I wish this painless environment I could feel

A change from the norm, a different view

So tired of hearing and seeing love fail through

Although the dream world seems almost perfect

We cannot always control what direction it takes us

Maybe we should focus on changing in real life

Count our blessings, and pray for the world at night

One day we will live in this dream world forever

We can meet our Father, our creator

Heaven seems like the perfect dream

But one day it will become a permanent reality

Bless you Ryan, what a beautiful poem. It reminds me of the occasional early morning when you hear a bird sing. The birds sing practically every morning, but rushed for time you don't have time to hear it. It changes your day when you do hear it and brings you closer to nature.

Our dreams are a good subject for writing, Fullerman, and you did well with this verse. Nice work.
