Lost (a poem)

Updated on May 24, 2011

Unfamiliar terrain surrounds me

overgrown weeds block my turns

rocky paths derailing my way.

Caught in a web

which way does not matter

no one to guide

driven in no direction.

Trying to create a road

I cut down those in my way.

"You will never make it on your own"

haunts my every step.

Taken from my comfort zone

robbed of support

with no one to turn to

I choose this road before me

only to turn back around

pass the same thing twice.

I'm lost.

I felt this yesterday evening so I wrote it in the moment. Writing in the moment helps me capture what I am feeling. Thanks for your kind words friends. You give me the encouragement to keep on writing.

I've had these feelings before..and often. Sometimes by choice, other times not of my making. You have such a gift of describing, in poetic form, feelings that so many experience in life. Just beautiful, Truth. I have to say that your name fits your words! UP AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL!
