With Many Broken Hearts as Trophies, Love Dropouts Are Doomed to a Lasting Loneliness.

Yesterday a woman to die for with ease,

now only a part of a boring day,

that loving heart so eager to please,

now hard and cold as if made of clay.

Like a romantic novel about eternal love

was their story with each glance and sigh,

with cherubins rejoicing in heavens above,

all turning now into a wornout lie.

What happens to hearts whimsical, unsure,

to treat their love like a passing game,

first to see her as irresistible lure

then only to drop her without any shame?

Armed with a bunch of cheap excuses

to quiet down a conscience, if they have one,

and leaving behind all those bruises

with cowardly hearts they just run.

Now waiting till a new victim-in-love appears

they spread their nets ready to romance,

ready to cause some more of those tears

at the end of another short-lived trance.

But there is justice that never fails,

those love dropouts can't find peace in their heart

like criminals of love rotting in their jails,

with loneliness and misery, and too late to get smart.

Ruby Jean---Yes, and the problem is always that they are so hard to recognize. Actually, many of them even succeed to convince themselves that they are really in love. And then they just drop out from the relationship.

Many of them are not regular womanizers who just want to date and have fun, but guys even planning marriage and family, and meaning it---but that unstable heart in them spoils it all.

The abuser is forever looking for another victim to shower his love dropouts on. Your poetry is stark reality. So many hide their bruises.....
