Not a captive, allow me flight.

Prayer of Vengeance

“Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord” … God

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray each night the Lord does keep

All our memories in your head

And find no rest upon your bed

I pray each action, every word

All the secrets never heard

Are everyday brought to mind

May scars reveal the ugly bind

May no peace rest in your heart

Shall turmoil taint your new found start

The pain and burdens you left behind

Pave your future of that kind

Your happiness be blessed with guilt

The house of sorrow you have built

Tears of loved ones they have wept

Haunt you daily, your every step

The time has come to move on

The selfishness you sewn be born

May your days be everlong

And each relive all your wrongs

Comfort my spirit.

Escape

My attention diverted,

To her, creeping across my wall,

Most common to see as he,

To me this is her fall.

The shadow now stalking,

Cast from window’s light,

Oblivious of the following,

In search of a safer flight.

Imprisoned seeking freedom,

Entrapment found alone,

Attracted to colorful lights,

Eluding a darker zone.

Purposeful exploration,

Twists and turns, different paths,

Embarks on diligent travels,

Yet back where she was at last.

Fear, panic, frustration,

Drives her frantic flight,

Crashing into the wood and glass,

By her struggle she loses sight.

Fueled by emotional state,

Wit and reasoning become numb,

Reacting to fear itself,

Until a calmness finally comes.

In a temporary state,

I can become this creature,

Sharing with her a journey,

Determination as our feature.

Pain, my shadow stalker,

Cast by love’s blind light,

Realize becoming lost,

Sought wings to take flight.

Fault by ignorant choices,

Misled by false dreams,

Chased after the glitter,

Fool’s gold does not beam.

Darkness not without light,

Yet alone in his presence,

Learned I am my stranger,

Invisible by my essence.

The miles walked for answers,

Discovery without end,

Turns without an atlas,

Back to where you begin.

Reality invades reason,

Anger leads war of control,

Lash out with strife’s frustration,

The suffering returns two-fold.

Peace in the midst of dust,

Comes only after the storm,

When the trials of life have settled,

And enlightenment is born.

The soul accepts tranquility,

The heart learns to mend,

The mind develops strategies,

And new life then ascends.

Escape becomes inevitable,

Avoidance smothers old trails,

Perseverance and strength succeed,

At last, freedom prevails.

A path to serenity

Ode To My Heart

A mere imprisonment,

The soul's desire, escape,

Pounding from inside,

Spirit against flesh,

Bones, muscle, veins,

Bruises, scars and blood,

Ignorance of sheer fate.

Aggressive is thy captor,

Where I lead, you abide,

Apologetic form,

Protection was desired,

War's victim you became,

Wounded innocence,

Unknowing you had cried.

Joyous suffrage,

Pleasure led to pain,

Eager to feel royal,

Deceived once again,

Twice, grievous end?

Agony to hesitation,

Pride questions shame.

Beat with new strength,

Provide time to heal,

Ceasing brings the reaper,

History annulled,

Pulsing to survive,

Proud of my dear heart,

Perseverance yielded zeal.

Let me taste the wine on your lips.

If I Could Write You a Poem

Be straight, be forward,

Just tell me what you mean,

I don't read between, the lines,

Don’t see the things, you’ve seen.

Please, just say aloud,

Let me hear the words,

From your sweet lips, I pray,

Let emotions simply purge.

I know the feelings, I feel,

Your breath breeds new life,

Just reciprocate my love,

With no woes of a wife.

Touch me with your passion,

Allow me to share your pain,

Let me see the you,

That hides within the rain.

Allow me to protect,

The beauty I behold,

Let me caress the one,

Profess the love, told.

Don’t pull in defense,

Hide your tears not,

Let me love all that’s you,

And cling to what I’ve got.

I beseech you,

Allow me to show my love,

You create a better me,

Morals a gentleman of.

Let me grow within you,

Learn from your pain,

I will search to find me,

Educate to be thy vein.

Pulsing, just to love you,

The stone of your corner,

Desire to be the only,

Of you, alongside morner.

Flesh against flesh,

Let me taste the wine,

Your tongue holds a virtue,

Infect me with your vine.

Teach me compassion,

To partake of your grace,

Privilege unworthy,

Permit me at my pace.

Lust overtakes me,

Desire to bring you joy,

Becomes a priority,

I Plead, do not be coy.

I long to provide,

For my deserving queen,

The stars I’ll find to give you,

Fulfill desires, I dream.

Birth of a new creature,

Bring forth deep within me,

Permanence in desire,

A new world you make me see.
