Love Poems in Honor of Valentine's Day

Angel

It is often said that when she smiles:

It is a place where the angel lives.

The workday is forgotten;

And so is one’s problems.

And wave upon wave,

she lets her feelings show,

but the night’s calm

does not let it surface.

She placed my hand on her heart

that’s as soft as November rains.

“Look inside,” she said.

“Tell me what you see?”

I pulled her close to me:

I let my answer

dance upon her lips.

By the Light of the Moon

From the desert to the sea,

she gives to me a feeling—

a feeling called love.

Through her coffee colored eyes

the world seems anew—

an everlasting,

ever changing story.

I am wrapped in warmth

by the light of the moon.

I’m aloss for words

in the presence of you.

Her features

seem so clear to me:

Her voice, a soft wind.

Her eyes are like star-filled skies.

A wash of memories

flood my mind,

sending chills up my spine.

From this California Dream

winding from here onto you.

We are lost on this landscape

by the light of the moon.

September Song

Like

an assorted array of

flowers in

June.

She

has this

special power

to change

the darkest hour

into a passion full-bloom.

And I

constantly ask myself,

what

do you

see

in my eyes?

Perhaps

it is the love

I have for you

that’s as vast

as the ocean

is wide.

And now,

on this September night

I gaze

at the stars

and can’t help

but think of you

wherever you are.

I

wonder

if you think

of me the same

as you

lie upon your bed.

Your mind running wild

from the book

you

just read.

You

approach the window

and focus

on the sky;

A teardrop

falling

from your eyes

“No place

I’d rather be,” you say,

“than in your arms.”

And off

in the distance

we hear

the forest playing

our

Howard Jones - Everlasting Love

Imagination

“Close your eyes,” she said,

“and let your mind go.”

Well, my mind seemed to go

everywhere

and then some.

I told her that I liked the way I felt.

I saw more than the naked eye

could possibly see.

Yes, I even saw places where the mind

wanted to be.

We were sailing on the ocean

with the wind on our tail.

Our backdrop was unfolding

in the most beautiful sunset.

Nature was speaking to us.

Last thing I remember

was waking up in her arms.

I felt all the love in her heart.

Erasure - Because You're So Sweet (Live Acoustic)

The Night Holds Promise

Whenever I gaze out into the night,

I see the stars that blaze

in an effortless sea;

I think of you and your beauty

and the love that remains.

I know the night holds promise.

The words I wish I could say

may be hard to convey.

I know my love is for real.

If I could just hold you.

If I could just kiss you.

You’d feel the love in my heart

and see the love in my soul.
