Love or Life?

Updated on September 5, 2012

You read words from afar
And you think about love
Love that you never new except in your dreams
Or maybe for a fleeting moment
Because at that moment
You believed in love
But now you must believe in life
Because life has overcome love
Or is it romance?
We are taught to love
But also to control our emotions
And what emotion is greater than blinding love?
I can tell you about it
But what would I say if we met?
Would my pride assert itself?
Would I be able to say that you got to me?
Words written in the dead of night are not afraid
But words spoken to you in the daylight hours tremble
Because the walls of apprehension
Are built high so pain cannot be felt
Or seen
But when our eyes meet
So shall our lives
And that is what you must believe my darling
In life

@cynamans - Thank you. That is a very nice thing to say. It is reflective of the things I've experienced over a long period of time as is much of what I say.

@QudsiaP - Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.

@acaetnna - Ha.... I'm kind of moody I guess and you know how it is if you like to write. It's almost a diary....

How you are currently feeling is always, I think, portrayed in your words. I enjoy reading your poetry, thank you.
