Lovers’ Fields (poem)

Updated on May 28, 2013

What blossoms flowers put upon display

To add a touch of beauty to the air

In fields where lovers come to spend their day

-

If I were now to reach what would you say

Will I still see the sun or bleak despair

What blossoms flowers put upon display

-

A chance perhaps a moment just to stray

Who knows what special memories may flare

In fields where lovers come to spend their day

-

My heart is offered up to pave the way

To splendors which your beauty will make rare

What blossoms flowers put upon display

-

And if your answer causes some dismay

A dream of sadness will be waiting there

In fields where lovers come to spend their day

-

So take my hand and lay all else away

That for this while the two of us may share

What blossoms flowers put upon display

In fields where lovers come to spend their day

Aw, this is beautifully sweet! Can we have as many first loves as we'd like. What a feeling of love discovering itself! Wonderful Martin, you took me away.

Oh, wow, Mh, this is so very beautiful, and yes, you should reach out . . . we only live once.

Love the sweet image of the flowers and the couple, goes perfectly with your poem

A lovely poem. In it I see the innocence of young love shared together in the beauty of nature's bounty.

Hi Mh, I hope all is well, just checking as I went to bed early last night, and thought I would catch up this day, but I do not see a new hub(s) from you. That is okay, as everyone needs at least one night off :)

      Hugs

There is a bittersweetness to this lovely poem, Martin. Young love stays with us, always. I think it is the measure of all future loves. Beautiful and poignant words. :-)
