Lovers' Goodnight (poem)

Updated on September 10, 2015

Here at the tip of lovers’ sleep we hold

Another kiss for faithful lips aside

To feel the gentle beat of life unfold

In hearts whose lives together are now tied

Here lost to time we drift in our reward

Of knowing nothing else that can compare

To those sweet words that forms our special chord

To start the song of everything we share

Today has had its say and now is gone

Tomorrow cannot borrow from this page

Let’s not allow the now to slip from view

For soon we’ll swoon if kisses are not drawn

And see what wishes kisses do engage

Before we start another I love you

Music only
