Love’s Sweet Breath

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Given flight by loves sweet breath,

I soar above my world at rest,

on updraught dreams suspended I,

nurtured by all that I relay.

My thoughts of love and compassion felt,

the carriage of my wings are dealt,

a moment of an angel’s bliss,

a fleeting view of heaven’s kiss.

Suspended in the clouds of dreams,

above a world of harshness seems,

so distant from a freedom sky,

beyond the strife of human lies.

Holding tight my minds delight,

to this retrieve from human plight,

the wind beneath my pristine wings,

I pray remains my soul to sing.

With gentle breeze upon my face,

my hair my flesh in heaven’s grace,

my thoughts aloft and free to be,

what life allows and minds to see.

For I am seeking moments more,

in this my thoughts abandon, soar,

in love’s sweet breath I’ll treasure you,

my captive heart and soul imbued.

You free me.
